Any guys that go over the line will have to defend themselves. My objection has been to a position that brands a large group of people with the actions (alleged actions) of a few with being boorish, redneck, rubes; instead of being critical of things that the poster believes need criticising and understanding that (1) that is a limited number of folks and (2) most every fan base of any size is "blessed" with a few of those.

The temperment of this board is usually different from Tribalgrounds which is one of the reasons I have enjoyed it in the past. Part of the reason is this board has only a few active posters who are, generally speaking, both temperate in nature and have some level of knowledge of which they are posting. The larger the pool of posters the lower both standards become. A handful of knuckleheads on Tribalgrounds are no more reflective of our fans as a whole that some of the over the top silliness on Hogville is reflective of Razorback fans as a whole.

My objection is to the characterization of the many with the perceived sins of the few (even with allowance for a few specifically inumerated exceptions).

Good post. Thanks. I agree that suggesting that all ASU fans are "jerks" is kind of like branding all Muslims as terrorists. But a few bad apples can quickly ruin any group's reputation.
