per ESPN.com...

Odartey Blankson, who announced in April that he was leaving the Marquette basketball team, says he will attend the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in the fall.

The 6-foot-7 forward, who played at Marquette for two years, said Friday he informed UNLV coach Charlie Spoonhour about his plans Thursday.

Blankson will have to sit out next season under National Collegiate Athletic Association transfer rules.

He averaged 8.4 points and 6.2 rebounds during his sophomore season, and 7.2 points and 5.9 rebounds for his two years at Marquette, being named a member of Conference USA's all-freshman team in 2001.

Blankson sustained a stress fracture in his left foot last season that caused him to miss three weeks of play.
