Three times this week Bird established a career high for points while averaging 17.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Monday at Eastern Michigan, he set a career-best with 15 points. Wednesday at Western Michigan he extended his best to 16 points at Western Michigan. In Saturday's regular-season finale, a 70-66 win over Akron, Bird scored 20 points. His 20 points versus the Zips fueled a comeback from a 12-point deficit. He also grabbed a career-high nine rebounds at Eastern Michigan and drilled eight three-point goals during the week.
