Quote:Philadelphia is a regional market as far as TV is concerned for the Big East, no different from Detroit and the MAC or Indianapolis and the MAC.
Every market is a regional market, so, yes.
Quote:The Big East has and will continue to get regional games on the Philly market.
Yes, but the Philly market gets more Big 10 games than Big East games. Without checking the TV logs, I'd say the Big East gets slightly more TV time than the ACC and SEC.
Quote:Also, if you live in Philly you can pick up New Jersey stations when they broadcast Rutgers.
One problem, there aren't really any New Jersey stations. The Philly stations cover southern Jersey; NY stations cover northern Jersey.
Quote:The point is the Big East doesn't need Temple to have a presence in Philly. Its true few follow Temple or Rutgers in Philly, regardless Rutgers games will show up in the Philly market and that is what the Big East cares about/
Don't be so sure about that. I don't recall seeing Rutgers on TV more than once around here last season.
On the face, you theory could have merit. However, the facts do not support it.
