WBB Game 24: ODU (5-18, 3-6) @ WKU (16-5, 8-1)
Thursay night the ODU women's basketball team will travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky to face off with Hilltoppers of WKU. This season Con USA is ranked 18th and WKU has the highest RPI at 46 of any team in Con USA. Con USA will probably be a one bid league to the NCAA tournament, but WKU has an outside chance of grabbing at an large bid if all else fails.

To try to paint a picture of what we are up against. Going back to the 2014-15 season, WKU has lost a total of four home games and won 50. Since joining Con USA, ODU has yet to beat WKU. ODU has yet to win on the road this season. WKU has two 1,000 point career scorers. (One of them trying to make 2,000) In short, this game will be tough for ODU to win.

#32 Kayla Smith G/F 5'11" Jr 1.8 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.5 apg, 35.3 FG%, 20.0 3P%, 70.0 Ft%, 10.4 mpg

Brown WKU has two really good players with the last name Brown. Tashia Brown leads Con USA in ppg averaging 23.2. (which "drops" down to 22.8 conference only stats) For her career, she has 1,842 points and she most of her dirty work around the paint. She is a league MVP candidate.
Ivy Brown. She is the ideal post player that can spread the defense and shot three's as well. She is averaging a double double, has scored over a 1,000 points in her career and yet leads the team in three point attempts as well. Together the two Browns are a strong 1-2 punch.
Since conference play started Elededawy (who is from Egypt) is averaging 9.2 ppg and 8.8 rpg. She is a freshman and is a strong presence in the post. ODU is going to have trouble guarding these three down low.

Outside the arc, Ivy Brown, Dee Givens, and Sidnee Bopp. Givens is averaging 11.9 ppg and 5.1 rpg. Over half her shots are threes. Bopp averages 4.3 ppg and shots mostly from beyond the arc. This is a strong rebounding team and they have a strong ast/to ratio. (good fundamentals)

Inside the numbers.......
...............WKU.....ODU
PPG........77.5......55.0
OPPG.....63.8.......64.1
FG%.......43.1.......37.3
OFG%....40.0........40.8
3P%......36.1.........29.6
3MPG.....5.8...........5.8
FT%.......77.5..........63.8
FTMPG..15.2..........10.0
RPG.......39.1.........34.0
OpRPG....36.5........34.8
APG........12.7.........10.8
TPG.........11.7.........15.6
SPG.........10.7.........6.1
BPG.........3.9...........2.3
Ast/TO ratio: WkU: 1.1, ODU: 0.7

In short this is a very good team that we will be playing. It would take a perfect game by ODU to win this one. WKU leads Con USA in scoring. The team's defense ranks third. Second in the conference in FT shooting. They lead the conference in blocked shots per game and steals per game. Honestly....this is just a very good team

RE: WBB Game 24: ODU (5-18, 3-6) @ WKU (16-5, 8-1)
Final Score. WKU 62, ODU 48. Taylor Edwards has 16 points, 8 rebounds. 10 points, 3 boards from Ashley Jackson. Timmons comes off the bench for 7 points, 5 boards, and 7 points, 3 boards from Morris.

Monarchs continue their road trip to Southern Miss. It is their "pink game". Head coach Joye Lee-McNelis has said she will dye her hair pink if 2,500 show up to watch the game against ODU. This game is part of a doubleheader with the men's team playing Charlotte and she will dye her hair during halftime if enough fans show up. So ODU will probably not be facing a friendly crowd this weekend
