RE: Harry's Take on Basketball Scheduling
I like it. I'd love to see Temple, Dayton, UConn, Memphis etc at the Ted. Besides, if we're interested in some day being invited to the AAC, what better way to gain momentum then playing and beating a number of their teams?

I don't understand why we refuse to play an occasional ACC buy game. We obviously can use the money, and I would much rather go on the road to play an ACC team than Fairfield. Hell, I'd rather play an ACC team on the road than UMES at home.

What if we accepted a buy game and used the money to pay for in conference travel? That would open up more OOC possibilities of H/H series with schools (and recruiting grounds) like San Diego State, Nevada, St. Mary's, and Colorado State that we currently cannot afford to schedule and thus get stuck with CAA games. So instead of Fairfield, go to Duke, take a cash payout and be on TV, taKe JMU and Towson off the schedule, and start a H/H with San Diego State and St Mary's... or BYU and Utah Sate... play them both on the same week on a single trip and have 2 top 50 type opponents at the Ted next year. The next year do the same thing and cut out Bowling Green and Norfolk State. That way, every year we'll have 2 great OOC home games, 2 great OOC road games (plus a preseason tournament), plus a big time P5 game on the road and we keep the VCU, W&M, Richmond, and the UMES tune up game. This would give us a shot at an at-large when we are good as well as give season ticket holders some value. It would also give our team a chance to see, and gain experience playing teams of various styles of play. If we were to make the tournament this year and get matched up against BYU or St. Mary's, there is no way we could be prepared because we have never seen anything like that. We'd have a better chance against UNC.

Let’s play a bunch and use the money to build a new stadium. Problem solved. Someone owes me some money for that idea.

XACLY. Football can play a body bag game at Alabama every year to pay for it.

RE: Harry's Take on Basketball Scheduling
Would definitely be taking a chance, but it would be better than continuing to stagnate with the scheduling status quo. Play the P5 pay game and use the proceeds to get the team to and from new H-H with mid-major and high mid-major teams. It would also give us an opportunity to develop connections and relationships with other like-minded mid-majors and potentially forge scheduling alliances down the road. I'm sure the logistics are tricky but we have to adapt if we want to stay out of the hole. We only just climbed out
