if our football program is truly driving the bus then we're probably in trouble. pretty sure we've seen the best of what bobby wilder and crew have to offer.

As long as we are stuck with our current facilities, you may be correct.

I think a facilities upgrade is needed and will improve the state of the program. However, even with all of that implemented (even with the dream of the original "Phase 2", indoor facilities, etc.) I just don't see BW progressing the program any further. He's done so much for the program and should be given all the credit in the world, but if progression in the FBS world is truly the goal, then you need to move in a different direction.

That may be true, but I think Wilder has earned enough capital to at least try to get us there. If we are still getting blown out by mediocre P5's 2 years from now, then maybe it's time for a change.

Don't forget that we just came off of a 10-3 season with a Bowl Victory. And don't give me the weak schedule stuff. We didn't exactly play murderer's row this year either.

RE: Norfolk State
Thought this thread was about Norfolk State game. How did it devolve into a FB rant?

Well I'm bring back the NSU theme! I waited a while to post because I was so furious! The seat assignments were atrocious, We were not warned (or I missed it completely!) that the SODAS WERE NOT FREE in the quasi Big Blue Room. I wasted a favor from Darius getting some Room passes for some guests who accompanied us. We just turned right around and left. Picky, I know but what I remember in the early PR was they were going to recreate the Big Blue experience at Scope.

I think we should play Hampton and NSU on a rotating basis. I like the idea of having their bands and cheerleaders in the TED making that neutral game feel.

Good point Homsler. I made the mistake of buying two beers and a mixed drink for my friends before checking the price. It was $30.00. 04-chairshot

Great post. Everything about that game was a disaster. I would be embarrassed if I had anything to do with planning that.

Well there's a simple solution...let's not play in the Scope anymore. From a planning perspective, if you want to put on a better product in the Scope you need to play there more than once a year (which I would not prefer). Also, the Scope needs to make some infrastructure upgrades if it wants to be better with a basketball production (I have no idea how they put on a quality MEAC tourney..maybe they don't). We have a better facility with the Ted, and if/when we play Hampton/NSU/etc. on a regular basis, we should just be on our home floor.

NSU beat Stony Brook 74-68 in NY, for their second win.

I've seen Wichita State, Butler, Davidson, Tulane, SMU, Memphis, Rutgers, Syracuse, VCU, George Mason, and Xavier just off the top of my head, all move up to better confernces with terrible or no football in recent years.

Memphis, Syracuse, and Rutgers are way ahead of us in football.

VCU, George Mason, Xavier, Butler, Xavier, and Davidson are in non football conferences.

Wichita has expanded their athletic brand way beyond what ODU has done.

Tulane...No idea except for the New Orleans market.

Remember when we were upset that the city of Norfolk wouldn't put in a bid to host the CUSA tournament? Maybe now we know why. It would be a complete s* show.
