RE: Ryan Boyce
What are the chances we can sign him? Are we on his radar? As you can tell by my question, I don't keep up with recruiting very much.

Also for East 6'0" Alex Lomax (Wichita State) had 14pts 6asts and hit 12-13 from the line including all 8 in the 4th qtr. Clutch! 6'5" Ryan Boyce (UAB) added 13pts 3treys in the win

RE: Ryan Boyce
I think the hearing is today to see if he can play the rest of the year.
Please post if you hear anything. I think I took him and a lot of other youngsters off my twitter because there is just too much content for me.
Him not being able to play might hamper his development.

His approval was via a temporary restraining order. The actual hearing was scheduled for today. Sometimes, getting all your news from Twitter can leave important details out.
"Last week, Wiseman got some good news thanks to a temporary court injunction allowing he and teammate Ryan Boyce to play after initially being declared ineligible to play this season by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association. There is another hearing scheduled for Dec. 7."

No, he and Wiseman were ruled ineligible, but a court ordered injunction allows them to play until today's hearing.
I've heard it was a open and shut case of being ineligible but that was Internet talk among Memphis fans.
I'm not totally clear on what the issue is. Penny is the high school coach where he transferred to. Boyce played for Team Penny in AAU. But Penny is now trying to argue that Team Penny has nothing to do with him? Is that right?

I don't know why that is an issue because it happens all the time. Internet talk is the TSAAA favors Nashville schools over Memphis schools, and Wiseman transferred from an elite private school in Nashville to a public school in Memphis. Hints of sour grapes and influence?
Boyce is really just a tag along in this situation. The real prize iWiseman who is the Nations #1 recruit in the Class of 2019
If I recall a few years ago some new coach at Clay Chalkville had attempted to bring in a bunch of guys illegally and they were deemed not eligible or something.
Yes, just looked it up.
Cousins & Watford were both deemed ineligible and the school was fined. The coach didn't last long either but I don't recall if he was fired or what. He was on AKs staff at ole miss.

Yep seems cut and dry since they were already playing for Team Penny.
Penny is saying he doesn't coach Team Penny so its not a link. At least I think that's the argument.

Cousins & Watford were both able to play anywhere except Clay where they said the recruitment happened. So I had wondered if Boyce would be able to play at his old school if he loses today.
I don't care about his teammate, we aren't going to get him. I just want Royce to get better by playing this year rather than sitting.

He'd probably have to go to Tenn Prep

Could he still end up on the Southside this season? He probably would speed up any potential transfer.

Not everyone can afford prep school nor can everyone graduate high school early. Id say we should hope he wins so there is less uncertainty and he can continue playing with this good, stacked team.
(That incorrectly thinks they could beat Memphis)

You are you. Lol
He knew the rules wouldn't shock me if he lost. Don't think his skill would diminish over a few months if there's a pick up gym somewhere.
