FN Bowl Watch Discussion
So what do you guys think it’s gonna be? Coach insinuated on the postgame with DC he knows where we are going with an official announcement to come hopefully in next few days. My guesses (in order of likelihood):
1) NO vs Troy
2) St Pete vs Smoo
3) Bham vs Mempiss
4) Shreveport vs P5
5) Armed Forces vs Army
I would hate NO because I feel like it’s the “cheapest” bowl out there but it’s an easy trip with a storyline opponent and we’ll before Christmas travel season. As long as it ain’t Bahamas I’ll be there.
Can you guys even believe we’re having this conversation right now?! What a season!

I know it is far and a lot of fans wouldn't be able to attend, but I am extremely hopeful for the Bahamas for the players. Would be an incredible experience with your teammates. Unless we are playing in one of bowls around New Years, I think they are all similar from a prestige standpoint.

Crane and Irvine heavily hinted at Bahamas in the post game.

If it’s Bahamas, I’m going to cry. It will be extremely cool for the players, but it will mean that some of us will be 0-2 in getting to bowl games because we will have never played one in the contiguous 48 states.
With the story of the fans rising up to get this thing back, I’m not going to lie, that would hurt a little.

Bahamas is much more manageable than Hawaii. SWA flies to NAS now which has made flights much cheaper. It's really not too different than the South Florida bowls.

If there were other drive-able options, yes it would. How many students could afford to make that trip? Without them there wouldn't be a team. I'll pull for us to go 9-4 on TV but it won't be the same as a bowl road trip with my family.

I heard from an old friend who is in the know. He said UAB submitted New Orleans as our top choice to the conference. If that’s true we should get it. We will pick third behind FAU & North Texas.

I just heard Bahamas vs. Ohio. Pretty high level of confidence here.
This board should get nice and negative tomorrow.

I’m afraid Bahamas wouldn’t get as much pub being out of the country and right next to Christmas vs a MAC opponent (which carries no recognition to the casual local observer. Also NO carries higher payout. Any chance for us to get more money is a good thing.
Good news is if it is Bahamas, Ehsan can teach the football team how to ride the banana boat.

Doesn’t matter where it is, I need to drive it. Plane tickets, game tickets, food and hotel aren’t in the budget for the whole family.

Why wait?
Bahamas is the fan equivalent of Bham for the players. Cool for the players though—just wish I could make it. Too close to Christmas so I’ll already be in Bham.

Austin is one of the SWA TX routes to NAS. Quick detour before Birmingham?

It’s possible! We usually drive for the Christmas week since we are in town for a week and a half. We’ll all be much better off if they make the announcement in next few days so everyone can plan.

RE: FN Bowl Watch Discussion
Most of the bowl possibilities are totally unacceptable. There’s an 80% chance we should burn this whole thing down when the bowl is announced (heavy sarcasm intended)

If Coach Clark thinks this is what needs to happen then I hope they have a great time but also kick some ass in the Bahamas. He's gonna make it up to all of us little people in a few seasons when we get the G5 Access bid (or whatever it's called). This is just the beginning.
