Similarities to 2010 Team
This team really reminds me of the 2010 team that started the MACC streak. Really strong defense, an offensive line that will have another year of its core, a strong SR running back, and a QB that came into his own.

I'm not saying Santa or Graham are Harnish, but they've both improved it seems, and that 2010 year was when Harnish really stepped up.

That 2010 team also played some Power 5 teams and went 2-2. They really could have been 4-0 just like this year. Also not saying they run the MAC table like 2010 did, but I really like this team going into MAC play.

Huff is officially a complete back, his blocking has been exceptional this year. He is the best back in the conference.

Was just looking at the media guide and NIU has only one 25+ yard rush this season. That's very unlike NIU and Huff, specifically. He's bound to bust some big runs soon. That also shows the offense has been consistently just moving the ball efficiently. Once they start making big plays in the run game, you're going to see consistent 40+ ppg performances. That starts this week.

Also, the lack of big plays makes Huff's 6.1ypc look even better. He's doing that with nothing over 25 all year.

Only 9 total big plays all year, very un-Huskie like. 3 of those are returns...so six is pretty weak for what we are used to. I'm ready for this team to feast.

I just like the feel of this team, unlike last year. It seems like they feel they can beat anyone.

This year he’s straight running guys over. The last few years he was running around guys. This is the “Jordan Lynch effect “.

I was surprised we weren't able to break a big run Saturday the way Santa was throwing the ball. It shows how disciplined SDSU defense played. I really thought Huff was going to bust a couple all game but never happened.

Yep, they're a darn good team, overall tackled pretty well.

They kind of remind me of the '03 team who played great defense to start the season, but then a few key injuries weakened the D. I hope the '17 Huskie D can remain healthy and strong.

The kid shouldn't start anymore but that doesn't mean he hasn't improved. He was responsible for nearly 300 yards on offense his one game this year.

Just because he isn't great doesn't mean he didn't get better. Maybe if you weren't such a dick and used facts and didn't troll people you'd have at least a neutral rating. I have yet to see you use empirical evidence on one argument. You just call people idiots and say you know this and that.

You're also now bringing this up after you had already commented but at that point I hadn't disagreed with you on another thread. You're going out of your way to troll.

And still waiting for empirical evidence for your most recent ridiculous statement.

Agree completely regarding the injuries Huskie Jon.

However 2003, special teams were arguably the best in recent history in 2003.

Special teams this year in my opinion needs improvement for NIU to win the MAC.

1) Returns for TD's are unacceptable.
2) Our kicker has not yet proven that he is as good as Steve Azar yet either.

No rating system is perfect, but by ESPNs adjusted QBR.

2015 Ryan Graham 35
2016 Ryan Graham 37.6
2017 Ryan Graham 56

2016 Daniel Santacaterina 48.4
2017 Daniel Santacaterina 43.7

To be honest, the way Childers ran the ball against SDSU gave me Chandler flashbacks.
