Madizone?
Didn't have a single issue with Madizone tonight and that's even with spotty internet at a rental property in the outer banks. There's literally nothing outside of human error that would have prevented you from getting an HD level feed tonight.

Reminder that it is best to visit caa.tv and then navigate to the JMU game instead of using jmusports.com

RE: Madizone?
Honestly - it was sooooo much better than ESPN's feed last week. Again, the only hiccup was getting to the initial video - it seems like someone on JMU's end typed in some wrong addresses. Once I found a way in, it was awesome.

However, I am sure that a big part of the success of this was the fact that Bourne was able to get the TV contract. A lot of people who would normally be using the bandwidth in the VA area were able to go straight to the TV - leaving the feed free for us outside of that geographic area (and those of us who do not have Direct TV). (I do think the same thing happened with ESPN's feed last week - the problems with their feed didn't start until it looked like Western Michigan had a real shot to upset #4 USC. Unfortunately, ESPN was never able to recover.)

Madizone:

Good
No real interruptions in the stream
Curt great job as always
Camera always seemed to cut a coach as he was adjusting himself
It has zero calories
It's free
JMU won

Bad
Links to the game were created by a chimp
Picture was pixelated when fullscreen
I'm sure they told that poor girl not to read from her notes, but she should read from her notes
The graphics were created by a 1st grader and ran by a chimp
They need to fire this guy, he just couldn't hold the camera still

RE: Madizone?
so, overall it worked out? I was wondering how it was improved (if any) from years past.

Madizone?
So the madizone issue was that users attempting it in a web browser couldn't get it to load due to the portal through JMUsports.com not working? Otherwise it was fine?

So I wonder whether the broadcast crew and tech team ever read our boards for pointers and critiques?

RE: Madizone?
Was only on it for a short time on both my laptop and phone (had dinner plans and wasn't too worried about the outcome), but it worked well. I did have to edit the link from the splash page. Amateur mistake to F that up. Other than that initial link issue (that could be easily fixed with any technical knowledge at all) it was good.

Watching the game right now. Anybody else have volume issue? Have it maxed and it's still extremely low.

It was low on my laptop, but wasn't sure if that was just the speakers not being that loud or if it was recorded at a lower volume.

RE: Madizone?
Are the games broadcast on CAA.TV? Just curious, might try to stream this weekends game there and see how that goes but assuming if they just use the Madizone feed that it will be more of the same poor quality.

They are broadcast on caa.tv. I watched it on Dish Network so I got the Leerfield produced version which was excellent. -- Pretty cool representation from JMU's Sports Marketing Company. Maybe they use that one and not the in-house Madizone version. Maybe??

Anything/everything that JMU puts on Madizone is on CAA.TV.

RE: Madizone?
Madizone blacked out in Virginia for the Norfolk State game??? Not good.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. inside Bridgeforth Stadium/Zane Showker Field, and the game will be televised on MASN2. It can also be seen live on MadiZONE HD SportsNet, presented by the JMU Alumni Association, and heard on the JMU/Sprint Broadcast Network. Radio pregame coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. Because the game is televised, MadiZONE will be blacked out in Virginia. CLICK HERE for full TV listings for MASN2.
