Just keep getting worse by the players kneeling during the national anthem. Disrespecting the flag and the fans keeps making it worse.

Look for another significant dip in ratings for NFL football this season.

You are so right. NFL needs a star who represents America in the 50s. That would bump the ratings just like jobs flourished in the US in 1999.

I can't believe people are still attributing the numbers to the kneeling during the National Anthem.

It probably has had some impact, but not as much as some folks think.

Is anyone out there actually depriving themselves of football because they disagree with the kneeling?

Seems self defeating to me.

I'm sure there are some folks just as some folks avoid Hobby Lobby for other reasons, etc. Of course not watching an NFL game isn't really "depriving" oneself of anything though.

I guess I'm just an uber football fan. Shoot, I even watched CFL over the summer just to keep myself from going crazy.

I had three FF starters in this game and I could barely be arsed to tune in for the first 10 min..... I went downstairs and watched UNABOMBER on Tivo instead.

You guys missed a good game. It was neck and neck in the first half and then KC dominated the second half.

Unless you are a Patriot fan, that was an awesome game.

It would be nice if fans picked one week to boycott all games relative to attendance.
Empty stadiums across the country.

I assume viewership in Texas and Florida are down just because people have more important things to worry about.

NO. Two hurricanes that endanger millions of people has nothing to do with it.

It's because someone might kneel before a game. ( sarcasm) 03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao03-lmfao

Were there hurricanes nationwide all of last season when ratings were down 8%?

Read the comments in the article it is about the players kneeling....the fans stand but players kneel and putting the politics in a sport that is turning fans away. Fans don't want political crap when watching sports, they get enough of it in other aspects of their life.

I thought it was a pre-season game.

The NFL has sort of jumped the shark, not completely but it's kinda stale. Obviously the hurricanes hurt (we've definitely been preoccupied with that) but there's more to it. The diehards are not gonna tune out because of some kneeling before the anthem, not an 8%-12% decline. That's nothing compared to the Ron Artest incident in Auburn Hills, It'd take many of those to alienate fans. I think people are just finding other interest, nothing is forever.

I don't watch much NFL because I find it boring. Same for the NBA. The "modern" changes to both games make both difficult to watch IMO.
