ODAF Donations
We are ahead of schedule for our 2017 goal.

Through July 31 we are at $4,105,370 of the $5,000,000 goal. 82% in 7 months is pretty good. Lets keep it up.

RE: ODAF Donations
UPDATE: As of September 2017 we have raised $9,117,314 out of the $10,000,000, which was increased after they announced the fundraising campaign. We are at 91% for the year. Great job everyone.

Soon we will have so much money we will be able to seat a $50 bill in each empty seat at both The Ted and S. B. Ballard. Score!

RE: ODAF Donations
If they would count it toward the required ODAF donation to keep our football seats next season I'd be happy to pay mine early to help us get the match. Maybe someone in ODAF reads this board and could make that happen. Though they'd lose an arm-twisting tool for later, so if they're confident ODU hits the 50k goal, then they're better of not doing that.

I feel pretty confident that it is not an accident that these donations do not count toward football for next year.

Heard from the neighbor of the house cleaner for Wood that our matching donations now total $12.58.

Through December 5, we are at $10k of the $50k goal for the month to get the match. If we get to $50k (or more) and then the anonymous donor matches (up to $50k) that is $100k. It might not seem like much but it could pay for a chunk of the new scoreboard or something towards the stadium.

RE: ODAF Donations
I decided to be a little extra hard on that survey. When I had so many negative boxes checked I was actually wondering to myself why would I renew? Maybe I'll go for the miniplan they might push out. With a 22k seat stadium I don't think there will be many bad seats, I don't have to sit near the middle...

How do y'all see the GOP tax bill removing the deduction for athletic donations affecting ODAF, if at all?

I don't think it will make a major impact. The administration will figure a way to work around the bill ( legally I mean). Schools are not going to allow the rules change to affect their donations. It may mean they keep your donation separate from the tickets you buy or some other version but I believe they will figure a way to accept your donation so you get a tax break.
