I'm sure our staff feels pretty good about our chances as well if those are who we are competing with.
I know we are stacked at RB, but if last year taught us anything that we can't have enough good RBs. Plus, he could always redshirt, but would be hard to RS a guy this good.
Davis is a monster. If we get him he has the potential to be one of the best RBs in JMU history.

What would change things, according to Dukeman2, if Charleston Southern some how got into the mix.07-coffee3

Running backs (and QB's) are often the best athletes on high school teams. Further, they are often interchangeable parts. Meaning, they can move to other positions if RB doesn't work out or if you have ample depth but need to get that particular kid on the field in some way. Also, 4th string RB's can be solid contributors to special teams. Like you said, can never have too many...just like O-Linemen.

RE: 2018 FB Recruiting
Davis would be an outstanding signing at RB. He shows excellent balance, feet and truly superior vision. His listed speed and strength stats are good. Davis is D1 ready. I can't believe he would look at ODU twice given their facilities, but you never know. Staying in Lynchburg to play for Liberty I suppose would depend on if he wants to get away from home and play for a real university.

Watching the highlights for Davis he looked like Jim Brown, a man among boys, but another player stood out too, Keante Rose, the 6'5" 295# OC. That guy was pancaking opponents and was a big part of Davis' success running up the middle. Rose (#62 on the tapes) is also a Sr., but I don't know who is recruiting him. He's worth a second and third look.

At this point regarding LaLa - I would be more concerned about an offer from our friends in Blacksburg than any of his current offers. Their top RB recruit is currently trying to decide between Tech, Tennessee, and UNC. If they lose him, I guarantee you they send Lala an offer.

We’re definitely putting the full court press on La La. Houston, Simms, Mines, and Weaver were all at his house last night for an in-home visit.

When the recruit is 1.5 hours away, you can really make a kid feel special. It will kill LU should we land him. I can't imagine a player not wanting to go an arm's length away from home (as in JMU) to a program that's going to win with or without you. Quite a few kids from Lynchburg and the surrounding area go, or want to go, to JMU.

Good find and thanks for posting it. This in from Captain Obvious...I'd say we have a very good chance now. 04-cheers

After next year, Percy + La La. Assuming Cardon comes back 100% and can stay healthy for most of the season, though he contributed in special teams this past season some, I wouldn't mind seeing Percy redshirted.

Don't have any info on whether LaLa is leaning towards us, but I wouldn't read too much into his tweet. It looks like he is currently down to three still. JMU, ODU, and Liberty. He's posted similar pictures of him in school uniforms on visits or even these poster-like pictures. All over his twitter feed from each school. My guess is each school has created similar posters for recruits and he is just retweeting them. Kids love that sort of stuff. That being said, I know my choice of those three would be easy and hope he wants to come play for a few championships!

La La definitely is enjoying the recruiting process especially since all of his offers were late. It appears he’s the top target for all three schools. Going to be interesting who he picks but hopefully he’s in purple and gold next year.

He may take a look at his competition and shy away from us. He'd start immediately with either of the other two schools. Earning minutes with the Dukes would be a tougher challenge.

This will give us 4 quarterbacks heading into fall camp. Since he cannot compete is Spring practice he will likely redshirt next season. It is near impossible these days to start as a true freshman qb without having gone through spring ball.

Assuming he’s a recruited walk-on since we didn’t have a scholarship to give Dinucci

The article I saw said he’s a preferred walkon. Only D1 offer he had was Lafayette.

Complete assumption here, but a kid that good would welcome the challenge. I'm sure Houston has told him the truth... if he's good enough, he'll play. No question about that.
Given the struggles at times at RB this year(understand line play had a lot to do with that), we could use as many RBs as we can get.
Championship title or Soap Bowl trophy? We'll find out which one he wants.

6'3" 190. No way he stays at RB if he gains wait in the RS year.

Are you referring to La La? If so and JMU was recruiting him to be anything other than a RB, I can almost guarantee he isn't coming to JMU.
You don't screw around with a kid that talented at the position and I seriously doubt JMU wouldn't want him as a RB.
