If true, will be troublesome. I like her work ethic and shooting abilities. Anyhow, her twitter account still shows her committed to ODU, so I'm confused.

according to ladyswish she decomitted with coaching change, however we are keeping 6'4 Dejah Carter who reaffirmed her commitment to play for a great coach.

RE: New Women's B-ball Coach
we are at or around 8 players total including our one remaining recruit. Hopefully coach nikki is working hard to get us a few stars. I really thought the recruits we had could of flourished under a qualitycoach like Nikki, but in the end its these kid's decision. I am glad we finally have a coach who is about molding players for excellence in basketball and school, not about being their buddy.

I sure hope to hear some good recruiting news soon. Karen Barefoot has already picked up 3 transfers (including GG Smith) at UNCW. At this point, we just need bodies to be able to play next season. The team is supposed to be going to Costa Rica in August. There's barely a team to take.

Obviously those players have little interest in getting a better understanding of the game from their "coach"

Wasn't that reported by Ed last week?

Actually, it's late. Very late. I keep hoping to hear something, because we had 4 players transfer out and I think all our recruits for this year bailed, except maybe one, which leaves about 9 players total on the roster for this year. The team is supposed to make a trip to Costa Rica in August. This could be a very long season.

RE: New Women's B-ball Coach
I would rather her not just add bodies for the sake of adding them (Ok, maybe 1-2 for practice) and concentrate on the class of 2018, establishing ties with HS coaches in whatever area she deems to be her recruiting territory. That, to me, makes more sense that cobbling together something, especially if it means giving scholarships to players who might not be up to this level of play.

Agreed, Jump. I would not rule out that coach may have a few possibilities up her sleeve. I am sure they hit the ground running and are out working hard.

I think adding walk-ons to fill the roster and focusing on next year is the way to go. Not sure how many decent recruits are even available at this stage of the game.

RE: New Women's B-ball Coach
I'd rather her focas on getting recruits if 2018 than waste a scholarship just cause we need bodies. I'm sure she'll do great with the players we have.

I have seen Carolina bernadeco have 6 assists in a game once so I can see her running the point.

If she can get Ashley Jackson and makayla Timmons comfortable at scoring night in and night out makayla could be a 2 and Jackson low post and then start Kelly loftus and either oibookie or well rather Jessica Muniz I think we will be okay. No not the best like in years past but average

Wendy larrys worst year was when they only won 5 games and lost 21 before winning 17 straight caa championships, so McCray can't do any worse than that.

Or maybe I'm just dreaming but I hope we do better than Wendy larrys worst year here

Seems like we have potential but just need to work hard now that simms is gone

This is good news. However since this after the signing period it is not binding until she enrolled.

Curious as to why she was still available this late and who else was recruiting her

Quick search:

From 15-16
https://mobile.twitter.com/raoul_000/sta...85?lang=en

Also looks like she was either ineligible (due to grades) or injuries for the rest of her junior year (based on a message board).

I would assume that schools backed off after missing half of her junior year
