You may enter politics clean and with good intentions, but I guarantee no one ever leaves that way.

RE: Eh tu, Oliver?
Politics is often described as "the art of the possible". Most politicians are former business persons who were encouraged by friends and others to run for office. Therefore, the "average politician" is just as honest as the "average business person" they were before entering politics. The present President of the USA is an example of this at work.

Alabama may be a special case because our state's voters have always supported those who are known to be less than virtuously honest. No other state has had the top leader of each of the 3 branches of our state government removed from office for wrongdoing in office at the same time -- and one has announced his candidacy for the US Senate seat.

So true. I put the blame for all this on the AEA.

It is proof of the real political strength of AEA that it is the only professional organization Alabama's politicians dare to attack while passing SETF budgets for 2018 still $400 million less than was passed in 2007.

John Archibald
...Bottom line from the U.S. Attorney: Oliver Robinson is going to jail, and rear ends at Balch & Drummond ought to be tighter than a tin drum.
...If I were Oliver Robinson I'd be asking for witness protection.

Kyle Whitmire‏
...Posey and indictment name coal company as Drummond/ABC Coke, law firm is Balch & Bingham.
...Payment went through law firm and Robinson's company.
...Posey says Drummond/ABC Coke could have been responsible for tens of millions of dollars of cleanup costs in north Birmingham.
...Robinson took $360K, according to acting US Atty.
...According to feds, Robinson secretly recorded meetings EPA, environmental group GASP at request of Balch & Bingham lawyer who was paid him.
...Balch lawyer had letter written for Robinson to sign and send to AL Environmental Mgmt Com, feds say.

Agreed. One has nothing to do with the other

The more I think about what he did the more I want him erased from any connection to UAB. Keep his jersey retired but pull it down, remove his likeness from all photos and remove any information concerning him from the media guide etc.

Not going to happen. Revisionist history is a terrible thing.

His jersey is retired for his accomplishments on a basketball court. These are two separate issues and neither has anything to do with the other.

Can we paint stripes on the banner?

I like this idea, if his jersey remains up in the rafters.

Subway should keep running Jared ads because those were shot based on his accomplishments in weight loss.

Oliver took money from Drummond Coal which employs miners, and Jared had sex with a minor. Yes, I understand how one would fail to recognize the distinction. At least he hasn't been compared to OJ.....yet.
