That happened when I signed up for this gig. The mind part.

The Mullet = Sonny Drysdale (except a slimier fish)

Ms. Cottonball = Ellie Mae (except not as good looking)

RE: Keatts replacement
Sonny Drysdale didn't like Ellie Mae. His dad forced him to take her to events so she would not be dateless. Sonny had a collection of Ivy League pennants hanging on his wall because he had failed out of those schools. He was played by Louis Nye, who was in his mid-late 30's.

Sonny and Dash were great characters because they could be called upon to fill a need in a particular episode, but because of their flaws, the audience did not cry out for them to appear in more episodes, unlike Ernest T. Bass in the Andy Griffith Show.

@ghansen711 (Tucson writer): Looks like Arizona top assistant coach Joe Pasternack is going to be UC-Santa Barbara's next basketball coach. Paid his dues.

UCSB and UNCW are similar schools academically and athletically, but the CAA is a better conference than the Big West. UCSB had a head start on UNCW, but being in NC as opposed to CA is an advantage to UNCW.

Sonny Drysdale was brilliantly played! My favorite was Jethro! The way that they allowed their characters...especially Jethro and Granny to expand over time was terrific. The Banker Drysdale was good too. That was a great show period!!

Buddy Ebsen isn't acting when he says that. He was very conservative and appeared in ads opposing Ms. Jane, Nancy Culp, when she ran for Congress in the '80s as a Democrat.

He was supposed to be The Tin Woodman in The Wizard of Oz, but was allergic to the makeup.

Just stop what you are doing and pour yourself a stiff one. After all it is Friday afternoon. A couple of drinks and things will begin to make sense again.

I figured I'd let this one go and see what we end up talking about and if we end up discussing how we got here. Was it the CIA? Was it Russia?

I was really intrigued by the Wizard of Oz info bit, and was wondering if anyone was gonna bring up the munchkin that killed himself on set.

Top "article" on ESPN's NCAAM home page.

For the love of anything holy, can we pleeeeeease get the athletic department to request use of "UNCW" instead of UNC Wilmington or some other ridiculous variation?!

It's not that effing difficult and would be an alumni/fan pleaser of incredible proportion. Hell, I'd even increase my giving.

Be careful about mixing alcohol and Claflin. If you do, do not operate heavy machinery after consuming Claflin.
