I think we should finish it once and for all with a fist fight, what say you?
We gotta be drunk first.
An Irishman wouldn't fight any other way!

The Irish make whiskey; the Scots make whisky.
Aigh, force of habit.

Scots are just Irish who left and settled Northern Britannia. That's why they share similar names and traditions.
We're a mix of Gaels and Picts, two sets of crazy awesomeness.

I come from a long line of mutts. Mostly a mix of English, Scottish, German, Cherokee and dash of Irish. Last name is an English word.
My son got all the same way with a dash of Bavarian / French.

Yep. The Irish and Scots have a zest for life and fun that seems to be inherently theirs. Must come from their common heritage, ancestry, and shared oppression and thus loathing of the Brits.

Irish, Scottish, English (Mayflower) and Cajun (which is most commonly but not always Native American, African and French)
Basically I've been at war with myself for centuries, which is reason enough to drink

One of my favorite trips was a few days in England, flying to Cork... driving through Midleton (and picking up a case of 'very rare') on the way to Waterford Castle
There's a Gaelic town there on the water whose name i forget. Accents were AMAZING!!

The wild spirit of freedom hasn't left us yet no matter how hard those damn English try.

Is O'bama Irish? In that case I must be too as my last name starts with an O. My ex-wife's mothers maiden name was Barron and my ex had red hair (not store bought). Is Barron an Irish or French name? So does that make my sons Irish or French?

Ireland is a trip everyone would enjoy. No language barrier, warm welcoming people and stunning natural beauty. And the Irish know how to have fun!
We spent a week in Dublin, Wicklow and the counties surrounding. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Airfare, lodging food and drink were really affordable costing 2k for two people for everything.

Figures. Only reason I even know that much is from when I was trying to figure out which Premier League team to pull for.

Hunh. Interesting.
My Mother has shock red hair and green eyes, and always had a snooty attitude about "Irish". I'll have to make a point to mention this next time I see her. haha

I think I'm like most Americans in that I'm a mutt. My line is mostly Irish and English. We've traced some of my family back to county Donegal and the Limerick area. My family's is the same as most Americans with Irish ancestry. They came over in the 19th century to escape the famine.

Ireland became populated around 9-10 thousand years ago. DNA shows Irish are primarily from W. Russia, MENA, Spain, and the Viking DNA was from raiders who ended up staying on the island.
