On the whole, the power conferences have underwhelmed. They were a combined 5-5 in the opening round. AQ teams (regular season champs of 1 bid leagues that did not win their conference tournament) were a combined 5-4.

The top seeds, which largely correlates with power conferences schools, definitely underperformed. The #1-3 seeds only went 4-8 and that's with 11 of those 12 having home court advantage, which is normally huge in the NIT.

But this does mean GT gets another home game again ... against Belmont obviously.

Pastner said he's buying all the student tickets again. Which means the Thrillerdome will probably be rocking again. So long as GT keeps getting home court they'll probably keep winning.

Look on the bright side GTS, you guys got Tom Crean fired!

Not the NIT but Campbell is in the CIT and beat Houston Baptist handily Tuesday. I got to go to that on. Their guard from Raleigh, Chris Clemens continues to light it up. He had 39 points and is currently the third leading scorer in the country. The play again at home Monday.

Syracuse loses by 5 at home to Ole Miss. The winner of Belmont @ Georgia Tech will play @ Ole Miss for a trip to NYC.

Kennedy has Ole Miss going in the right direction, he's a quality coach. Might have been a good idea for NC St to have checked him out.

And now GT will play at Ole Miss ... winner goes to MSG.

But Oxford, MS isn't The Thrillerdome. So that will probably be as far as they go unless they have some VCU/NCST level shooting.

Nice job By the Jackets. I didn't expect the road win to make it to MSG.

Awaiting Georgia Tech in the semis will be someone from a low major conference, not to say they're talented enough to overlook anyone. The winner of UT-Arlington vs CSU-Bakersfield.

On the other side, TCU awaits the winner of Illinois/UCF.

Maybe Josh Pastner can give Boeheim and Coach K some tips on how to play your way to Madison Square Garden. 07-coffee3

Oh boy. UCF just stormed the court after beating Illinois to advance to MSG.

Georgia Tech could see UCF and "Mr. NIT" Johnny Dawkins in the finals. Mr. NIT is 14-1 all-time coaching in the NIT and will be looking for his 3rd NIT title.

Congrats to GT staff, players and fans, who beat my 'Runners last night. Now go take care of TCU and win this thing.

Currently mobile....but not necessarily upwardly.
