Until the committee has more basketball people (I.E. former coaches) and is a lot more transparent, it will be very clear that both the committee and "bracketologists" are equally worthless positions.

Worthless may not be the correct choice of words. There is plenty of worth/value to those positions. You have to keep in mind this is an entertainment business. Having these discussions is for entertainment. They obviously do well enough that people care and tune in, which means they have value and are not worthless. Now to some people is it worthless, sure, but to enough people it is not. Talking about bubbles teams and trying to look at teams objectively is a much more interesting debate every year than most other topics they could be talking about instead.
I agree with you, however, i will say that looking at bracketology prior to February, now THAT'S worthless! Ha

No, it's correct. Because while there's tons of money involved, part of the NCAA's fake authority is intended to protect amateurism, or so they say. An NCAA committee picks the teams, not CBS. At least theoretically. So if these discussions behind closed doors are all about the business side, they're not doing their jobs.

It's a heavy emphasis on the "business side" that got the NCAA sued heavily by Boise State and Ed O'Bannon in separate suits. And rightly so. So let's not all pretend this is entirely just fun and games.

Didn't Boise State sue whoever ran the FBS Championship, which was not the NCAA?
