Thanks for the update on the WBB OOC matchup. I do not recall from last year, is the FSU WBB team good or not? See they have UConn coming in for a game!!

RE: WBB schedule
The FSU wbb team has been playing very well under Sue Semrau (2015 AP COY). They have gone to the NCAA tournament in 12 of 19 seasons during her tenure (+2 WNITs)

They were a 5 seed in the 2016 NCAA Tournament and lost in the sweet 16 to #1 seed Baylor and finished #12 in coaches poll

They were a 2 seed in the 2015 NCAA Tournament and lost in the elite 8 to #1 seed S. Carolina and finished #7 in coaches poll.

edit:
FSU's best player, Shakayla Thomas, is a rising Junior who was actually their "6th man" last year with only 5 or 6 starts. She was a 98-grade recruit who was #11 overall coming out of high school. While she is only 5'11", she has been dunking with ease since high school. She led the team with 16.4 PPG despite coming off the bench and was all-ACC first team (again despite being a bench player). They graduated their second best player but they have plenty of youth and talent to replace her.

RE: WBB schedule
I like a challenging schedule. It's proved beneficial in the past. I just hope we can parlay our recent successes into some (not all) home & home series. We are not an unknown quantity, nor do we lower a teams RPI-quite the contrary.

Wow, that is a heck of a get. Is that Tennessee's first game of the year? If so there will be a ton of media attention with the passing of Pat Summit last week.

This might be the most marquee name in wbb coming to Harrisonburg. I'm going to have to come to this game.

With you on that one. Would think it could be a fairly big crowd for the game.

RE: WBB schedule
Heard about UT at MAC but had gotten a bit worried when we hadn't heard anything. With that and the WVU game it's been a good couple of weeks for OOC scheduling news.

Yeah had heard UT during the Caravans but wasn't sure when it was going to be announced or if something had changed. Really great get

The only other game that comes to mind is the Maryland game a few years ago. I believe they were ranked in the top 10 at the time, but I could be mistaken.

Hope to see us do something for Pat as well. I would like to see us leave a courtside seat for her with a bouquet of flowers. Maybe we can get money together to donate to Alzheimer's research? As someone who has seen loved ones struggle with the disease, I would be willing to put in some money towards that end.

Yes it was a very good contract to get. I guess the TN deal is perceived bigger due to their having such a long term at or near the top of WBB and of course all their recent media coverage.
