Didn't sniff the NCAA in Nichol's last few years either and I've always heard it wasn't his coaching style that cost him his job.
Some say that Nichol's program was never quite the same after McDonald left for Kent. At the time of his departure my impression was also that it had nothing to do with coaching style either---we probably heard the same stories.
Mac was a great Coach and architect of the Rockets' defense. For 10 of the 12 years Mac was at UT, the Rockets were top 25 for defense and defensive FG%. Mac left UT and built KSU into a very successful program.

Its called "players": Good players make you a good coach, bad players make you a bad coach, but great players make you a great coach. Gotta recruit great players!!!!

Induction ceremony is Friday, the 29th. Just as a reminder, here's who will be inducted, followed by a link to a story about the ceremony
"Jim Brown, men's basketball (1971-75); Barry Church, football (2006-09); Molly Cornwell, women's soccer (2006-09); Myriam Cueva-Neville, women's tennis (2003-07); Mark Ehlen, Women's Basketball Coach (1996-2008); Harold McGuire, football (1982-86); Randy Schafer, Baseball (1972-75); and Brent Williams, football (1982-85)."

Several of these rather recent. When was Natalia Gaitán part of the UT soccer team? Certainly a World Cup captain should rate.

Graduated in 2012. Think 5 years need to pass before consideration.

I didn't realize Jim Brown has passed. Lost quite a few former UT basketball players in the last few years. Belated RIP.

Correct- two time all-MAC selection, pretty good career after UT: worthy candidate come 2017.

Barry Church and Brent Williams were inducted into the Varsity T Hall of Fame, but were unable to attend the induction ceremonies this weekend.

So, I'm confused by this twitter photo of Barry and Mark Beier?

I thought he was talking about them not making it for an appearance at the UT-Buffalo game. Don't know if they went or not, but that is what I thought it was referring to. They were at the induction based on the picture taken of all of them together.
Also didn't realize Brent Williams was that tall. Looks to be about 6'4 or 6'5 in the picture. Could be the camera angle I suppose and basing it off Church being about 6'1"

Also, I assumed that was Brent on the right, but I guess I don't know for sure.

My bad, I stand corrected. I was at both basketball games and due to the fact that Barry Church and Brent Williams weren't there, and the announcer stated they were unable to attend, I assumed that meant the induction ceremony as well. Glad they were there, but still bummed that they weren't at the basketball games.
