The G5 incomes are a whole Log10 away on the pay scale.
This is true. Also its not a very accurate article.
David Teel tweeted the distributions by school for the ACC for 2013-4, apparently based on the tax returns. It averaged $19.2 million per school excluding Notre Dame (I had to extrapolate for NCSU, but w/o them it averaged 19.3, so little difference).
When considering the Pac, they wholly own their network, so they have gross revenues and gross expenses that the others don't have.
For the SEC and Big 12, they have publically disclosed their distributions and below are the average distributions for all members (continuing members in the Big 12 were a little higher because of the WVU and TCU buy-ins):
2011-12 SEC 20.4 Big 12 19
2012-13 SEC 20.8 Big 12 19.8
2013-14 SEC 20.9 Big 12 22.0 (when ACC was 19.2)
2014-15 SEC 31.2 (1st year of pooled Tier III) Big 12 25.2
The Big 10 has been in the 24-27 range in these years, but that included the pooled Tier III all years, while the SEC had individually owned Tier III until this year. Big 10 projects around 30 million for 2014-15.
The Dave Teel tweet/article you are speaking about was from June 9th 2014...and the 19.2 M was for the 2012-2013 Season.. So Yes the ACC had a 30 Percent increase in Money and handed out 22.1 Million in 2013-14...
What is even more interesting is that the conference does not yet have the financial numbers for 2014-15, but the total revenue is expected to be higher based on increased money from the College Football Playoff and its exit settlement with Maryland.
No. Teel is from the last couple of days and is for 2013-14.
