To show how bad recruiting info is:

Check out Marlo Brown's writeup in the Detnews.

"Brown has six offers from MAC schools and also has interest from Ivy League schools."

Check out his write up in Verbalcommits.com

http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/eugene-brown

Much more darkness than light...

I saw this last night. EMU not mentioned for any.

I've kind of given up on recruiting in MI.

I still don't know why Turner and Brown have not committed to anyone yet. Signing period starts in six days...

I find it surprising.

The best explanation I can come up with is that a lot of schools don't have scholarships to give until March when their roster players announce plans to transfer. E.g., in the case of Turner, do CMU, UB, UDM, etc. have scholarships to give? Did they hold off with firm offers until they saw who did and did not leave their programs?

I hope the staff doesn't feel that way. Anyway a number of underclassmen in are included that we have offered, visited or commited:

Jessie Scarber Detroit King, Amauri Hardy North Farmington, Thomas Kithier Macomb Dakota and Keion Epps Wayne Memorial.

Perhaps we will get some names off these lists as we did last year:

Haven't see Div I All Americans yet.

Here is the problem trying to follow JUCO recruiting.

This site used to do a top 100 JUCOs every year. Not so this year... :(

Moberly Area Comm. College Men's Basketball players Rashad Lindsey and Travon Williams were named to the first team NJCAA Region XVI squad for the 2014-15 school year. Lindsey received the fifth highest total in the region as the 5'11" freshman point guard averaged 11.4 points per game, 4.4 assists along with hitting 41 three pointers on 41.8 percent. Williams, a 6'2" sophomore wing who redshirted last season after knee surgery, averaged 10.4 points per contest while hitting 61 three pointers at 46.9%. Donta Jones, a 6'11" sophomore post, was named 2nd Team All Region after averaging 7.7 ppg, 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game.

This sounds almost like a 'no brainer' to me:

I have been 'campaigning' for a JUCO PG ever since we started losing our experienced backup PGs.

Didn't we also recruit his teammate, Daniel Dzierzawski, who verballed to someone else? EDIT: Think Toledo.

Sounds like a JUCO which is rich with D-I talent.

http://www.moberlygreyhounds.com/index.p...oster-mens

It seems the staff is very comfortable with the JUCOs in the plains states, e.g., Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, etc.

(and, of course, those states are also big with JUCO FB).

Rashid put up some nice numbers this year. Shooting percentages, quite nice...

Have to remember these JUCOs have a lot of talent and shots (and points) get spread around a lot.

http://stats.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2015-...idnseyrme6

Would seem to be a very good recruit if he commits.

Correction: "Yes Please!!!" 03-cloud9

There used to be a 'bomber' plant at Willow Run during WWII (the story of "Rosie the Riveter").

We need some 'bombers' in the Ypsilanti area of Washtenaw County, specifically at the Convocation Center...

"Bombers" are the missing part of this team with JT4 getting double and tripled teamed, please get us a 'bomber' to sit behind the arc and shoot, shoot, shoot...

(just a little historical tangent for our younger posters.)

King, you are correct. The other number was from 2014/5.

http://stats.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/2015-...idnseyrme6

I love his other numbers, esp FT%.

Don't need to put up 15 - 20 PPG. Show me the shooting percentages, esp three point and FTs. If they are good, don't care if he averages 10, 15, or 20 ppg.

2.2 assist/TO ratio is solid too. He takes care of the ball and scores efficiently. Would be a very nice addition to our team.

He played at a very high level JUCO ball (division I) against tough teams and in the D-I JUCO tourney.

Shouldn't miss a beat playing in the MAC.

High school PG players like Ross, EA, Stone, etc. are projections to the MAC.

There are no gimmes in D-I basketball, but a solid JUCO PG from that JUCO level is much less a projection (to MAC ball).

I don't understand... Something doesn't add up.

Justin Turner (DET-Renaissance) reputed to be one of the best seniors in the state only made honorable mention all-state, Class A.

Although those recruiting rankings are usually done pre-season so they don't factor in what actually happened during the season.

Per someone on Twitter, Rashad Lindsey committed to us yesterday. Nice pick up. Had offers from Sam Houston St, Cleveland St, and Georgia St among others.
