Well, we don't know if this is true, but I do know that PJ would pump hard for a big rise in donations. It's all for the betterment of the program, of course.

No, not handed a powerhouse -- but a team that had the ability to go 7-5, but instead, went 4-8 on that last year. Cubit lost a handle on the team and there was talk that a lot of athletic admin were Not getting along with him, too. So when we lost our final game to EMU at home that year in 2012 -- they took NO time to fire him swiftly. They had no coach-to-be on-deck, either. And it was a year many coaches were let go, so the market was NOT good for a MAC team to get a new hire.
So yes, we had talent -- that's why hardcore fans went ape when we were going 1-11. We had a lot of injuries -- but we shouldn't have gone anything lower than 4-8 That year with a new HC. But, Fleck was finding his way as a coach on any level beyond WR coach, as that was a rough-n-tumble process that was not to anyone's liking. What he was handed was, IMO, a potential 7-5 team, but with injuries and a tough schedule, a 5-7 team (3 B1G OOC games; @Toledo, @NIU).
Quote:There was a rumor on the WMU board that he was boning a big booster's wife.
Yep, that's the talk. Insider info to me from those on the inside is that it did happen. Rumors about the same wifey hooking up with Gregg Jennings, too. It's just being part of the community, right? :)
Quote:Wow if he is separated from his wife that is a shame.
I think it was more of her separating from him -- but however it went down, it is a shame. I was scared it was going to make us struggle to get any wins this season. But man, it's not such a shame now, is it! Possibly a gold-mine! :)
Quote:Things in life happen but you have to have someone there to get through them sometimes. Always hate to see break ups like this.
Yeah, they just had a new kid -- by news article reports in February. I was skeptical about it bigtime off the bat -- I'm a fan of Fleck, as some old-school Broncos aren't. But, after info outside the forum postings, etc -- it'd bet $1000 that they're separated. Also other info that within the athletic dept, that's the word on what happened (Ziegler's wife). But as far as Separation, take a look at the Bios, at the end.
PJ Fleck Bio in July:

PJ Fleck Bio NOW:

That is terrible if any of it is true. It looks like she sacrifiiced greatly for him moving around and raising those kids just to get dumped on.

No to mention that he's pissed off the school's other sports coaches and doesn't have many fans in the athletic department staff. It's gonna be a big, steaming pile when he leaves.

Well, to be fair, that locker room mess was at the Idaho VANDALS place. I mean, come on, they were asking for it. The pics online was just used towels and gatorade bottles left on the floor, and a trophy fell off and broke. It was a SUPER small locker-room. Fleck let the home team's cleanup crew go in to clean things up which he admitted was a mistake to let them do... but I don't think that was a travesty. However, what WAS odd but funny was Fleck knocking out a ceiling tile and said he'd do it again! But hey, that's going to be a byproduct of his pumped-up exuberance.

Well, if he can get WMU to win the west or beat CMU *at* CMU a couple times -- heck, I'll take it! Better than having a 7-5 year being a "good one" under Cubit.

Oh, my misread. Yeah, I could see Fleck coming off as brash, cocky, and just not all that friendly face to face -- but I could also see him being the opposite, too. He has that salesman charm, which can be Great -- but also that sales, 1-dimensional mentality where it could be cold/whatever when his mind's on games/winning/etc.

Fleck's time at WMU will come to an end in one of the following 3 ways:
A) Mental breakdown requiring hospitalization
B) Indecent exposure (most likely scenario)
C) Sexual harrassment of a football manager
Book it !

PJ is a traveling salesman. He'll always leave town just before the heat catches up to him. Unless he's dumber than I think.

That's a rumor. Now, according to Fleck, an Idaho janitor crew came in and said they'd clean up the place and that he didn't need to... and Fleck took them up on the offer. The photos show towels and plastic gatorade containers laying all around... and showed a broken trophy (who leaves a trophy standing around in a CRAMPED visitors locker-room fit for 8th graders?!). The ceiling tile was PJ's fault by his own admission. But another thing was that one of the sinks' foundations was loose. If you see the pics, it's a CRAMPED locker room.
At first, Idaho claimed there was no big deal. Then I guess they amped it up with their fans amping it up -- and Idaho charged WMU $500 for all damages (ceiling tile + trophy repair).

Holy crap, did Tracie really leave him?
Wow if he is separated from his wife that is a shame. Putting the way he has handled college football aside, I know he and has wife went through a lot of dealt with a tragic lost heartache on a personal level. Things in life happen but you have to have someone there to get through them sometimes. Always hate to see break ups like this. Can someone confirm?
Keep in mind, they dealt with a tragic loss of a child. That will place extreme stress on the strongest of marriages.

The last ditch effort to save a struggling relationship - Let's have another kid. Then he'll have to stay home and take more responsibility. Never works.
