Wow, 500 whole people at this event. The old Derby Day party in the 80's had at least double that. We used to have 200 just in the yearly party in our own house. We had to call the police on ourselves to get them to show up in the day.
We still did in the early 2000's....the neighbors were not happy about the street party in 02.
There will more than likely be 800-1000 people in a parking lot on Stratford for at least two days this week. They happen, they're just a lot more sparse.

RE: Final Four games
I can appreciate mc's rant. Wish rounda would post here altho he'd likely be banned within 24 hrs.
Tournament history sux. Everyone has a right to be dissapointed. I do disagree with comparisons as to what Bob did. He at least had some players and was rebuilding in the metro or great midwest or whatever conference that was. Mick had Ronald Allen and Cedric Mcgowan. And he did it in the Big East- the biggest baddest muther effer in the history of basketball. It would have been easy for this team to slip into relative obscurity such as- Auburn? Illinois?
And so if we were middle of the pack in the Big East- that translates into what? Our worst team in the last three years is a conference champ in the American. I'd say Mick has done a helluva job given what he has to work with.
And that leaves us with recruiting- which has to get better if we are to get deeper in the tourney, because I have no doubt Mick can coach em up. And I believe that recruiting is improving, if incrementally. Would like it to happen sooner, but it is what it is. I believe the next 3-4 years will be very favorable to Uc bball, and i expect some better success in the tourney.
But I feel your pain.

Is there any video online of the Cinco De Stratford parties of 2002 and 2003...lived on Lyon street back then and those parties had thousands of people out on the streets. The damage caused by the drunk UC students was asinine but the parties were fun until they got out of hand.
Quote:Police monitored the area throughout the evening, said Capt. Gary Lee, night chief. The first call that the crowd had gotten out of hand came at 12:11 a.m. At its worst point, "about 600 intoxicated young adults" filled the street, he said.
"It was billed as an event, and it just escalated till a small group started to become unlawful," Lee said.
People turned over two cars - an Acura Legend and a Dodge Neon - then jumped on top of them. One man, wearing only sandals, kicked at a car window until it smashed. Chants started with "UC! UC!,'' and switched to "USA! USA!"
When police and firefighters responded to a report of a person who was hurt, they were pelted with rocks and bottles, Lee said. Officers wore their riot helmets, carried shields and used chemical irritants on some unruly party-goers.
Lee said he called for help from standby cars out of the other four districts. He said 19 officers responded, plus two more on horseback.

These stories can't be true, only the hillbillies at UK and WVU do stuff like this.
