RE: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RECRUITING
Looks like Coach Barefoot added a new commitment for 2016, Tyasia Moore, PG from Forestville Military Academy High School, MD. Looked briefly but hasn't seen any published story that gives us any indication of her talent level. Here is to hoping that she is a real deal.

Great job with the posting of recruits Ziggy.

Looking at the ODU women's basketball roster yields one name I am not familiar with.

5'6" G Jesse Booker. Haven't read anything about a scholarship, so possible walk-on? Anybody know. Always good to have depth.

No information to add other than they have an error on her bio page. She's from VA, not from PA.

From her profile... " Named a Governor's Scholar and graduated from Rappahannock Community College with an associates degree before her high school graduation". Impressive.

Very impressive. She has probably knocked out most of her general ed requirements, so maybe she can go to post grad at ODU in her senior year? Can't find much on the internet with her...

http://695hoops.com/i64hoops/all_ball_showcase_report

"Jesse Booker is a 5'8" shooting guard from West Point High in Wake, Virginia. Ms. Booker is a knock down shooter. She has a long range and lets it fly with confidence. She is a 2015 and has not committed yet. "

Interesting how the article list her at 5'8" yet ODU's bio puts her at 5'6". I've always thought ODU overshot players height.

RE: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RECRUITING
Signers from Tennessee, Maryland and Texas for next year. Why can't ODU women land a couple of local players. Girls basketball in this area, especially with Bo Williams AAU program, has excelent players. Surely, there's recruit or two worthy of a scholarship offer from ODU. I know the ACC is an attractive landing spot for the best players, but surely the CUSA isn't chopped liver.

RE: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RECRUITING
Mikayla Venson, Soph at UVA and their WBB leading scorer, has left the program and didn't play in their NIT win against VCU tonight. Apparently, she's looking to transfer after the Spring semester is over. Anyone know much about her game? What are the chances Coach Barefoot will go after her as protection against Simms and/or Annika leaving school after graduation?

RE: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RECRUITING
Mikayla Venson. Here is a neat article by the Washington Post on her game.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/hi...story.html

I say neat because she was regarded as the best player in VA, 3rd best PG in the country...and only played three high school basketball games over three years. Yeah...it's a neat read.

Just saw this story about Hofstra transfer, Kelly Loftus, after reading KB's tweet. Looks like she may only have one year with us.
Kelly - We welcome you to the Lady Monarchs family!

A couple of other commits:

Dejah Carter, 2017 6-3 center from Graham H. S. in Bluefield, VA committed to the Lady Monarchs the first week of June.

Taleah Washington, 2018 5-8 3 star pg from Forestville H. S. In District Heights, MD also verbally committed to the Lady Monarchs.

Any scoop on why 2017 Commit Brianna Jones is having second thoughts?

RE: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RECRUITING
The Camp twin sisters verbal to Karen for 2017.

https://twitter.com/campjaneen

Stories I've read on-line show they are physical players (a very welcome news to my ear) and exhibit "Shaq-like" feet. What this tells me is that as they continue to develop here at ODU, their size will definitely help win battles in the post which for a while, had eluded us, whenever we faced competitive opponents. Welcome to ODU, Janeen and Janae, and please hurry on to sign the dotted line...

Does anyone have inside info on their basketball skills...?
