Clayton's Gary Clark picked up his first offer from an Atlantic Coast Conference school this weekend.
The Clemson Tigers offered Clark on Saturday, according to Clayton coach Denny Medlin.
At 6-foot-7 and 215-pounds, Clark averaged 17 points and 14 rebounds last season as a sophomore, helping the Comets to a 21-7 record, making an appearance in the sectional final in the state playoffs.
According to ESPN.com, Clark is the 12th best player in North Carolina from the Class of 2014 and is rated a 3-star prospect.
Clark already reports offers from College of Charleston, East Carolina, Old Dominion, Ole Miss, Radford, UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Wilmington and VCU.
Cincinnati is also recruiting him heavily, and Medlin believes an offer may be coming from them soon.
Clayton will open the season on Monday evening against Fuquay-Varina.
Got to believe that Maryland has the slight advantage being the hometown team but it would be an excellent start to the 2014 class if he picks the Bearcats.
Ive been seeing recently that we have a lot of 5 star recruits being offered scholarships and coming for visits. And most of them being guards and SF. Now that mick has a system set up, these guards who love to score are seeing this and quite frankly...Who wouldnt want to play i a 4 guard run and gun offense? The future is looking bright my friends
with 3 guards in 2013 class UC won't be interested in this kid at Turpin (2014 class)
but Zach McCormick has offers from all of the MAC schools. He is a little bit of a legend around
Anderson Twp. His dunk last night made Sportcenter.

I live in Mt. Washington and when I saw that dunk this morning on Top 10 I was proud of the local kid. I gotta be honest, I've never heard of him until this morning. I was impressed.

Go Spartans... Basketball was never anything to write home about when I was there (made playoffs once I believe), but then again, neither was football.
Now that the 2013 class is finally complete, what players are we on in the 2014 class? By my count we will have 3-4 scholarships available (Kilpatrick, Jackson, Rubles, and Nyarsuk) depending on how the current scholarship situation is dealt with.
I know these two players have consistently mentioned Cincinnati and are planning on visiting at some point. They are also considering the possibility of being a package deal.
I'd love to get that Jared Terrell. Although I don't really agree so much with recruiting sites like rivals and scout with how they grade recruits. But it says his shooting is outstanding as well as his handling. Outstanding shooter? We need that

I think it also depends upon how Kelvin Gaines and Jamaree Strickland develop. If they look like they can hold down the fort Mick will probably elect to add a freshman big rather than go with the JUCO quick-fix.

You never know. Larry Davis seems to be the guy with the foreign player contacts. He might come up with another foreign big man.
Gaines has looked better and obviously getting more playing time.
I'm hoping for Terrell and Abu.
