I have bought a few guitars from them and had them do setup work. No complaints. I like the place.

Yea, Eric Martin is a good dude. I have several friends and former band members that have worked for him in the past.

RE: Musician question
Good deal, thanks. I'll be headed down to the shop today for something simple but he said it has some shelf wear on it. I didn't know if I should expect it to be worse than just a few smudges or what not. Just a case but still, for $120 I figured I'd ask.

RE: Musician question
He is THE ONLY person from whom one should buy a guitar in Memphis.

I've known him for over twenty years (back when he looked like dave mustaine, as he likes to say) and has always been straight shooting. Great advice. Great products.

Oh. AND he introduced me to paul reed smith... the guitar AND the man.
Eric will not steer you wrong.

RE: Musician question
Haha, all I needed was a case...but I may go up there more often now. I'd rather support local than guitar center. He cut me a deal cause it had some shelf wear. Taylor Guitars told me that the case, ordered, would be $225. Martin said they'd get it to me for $175. The one with the wear they gave me for $115.

Nice fellow. We've done some business with him. I've also done business with Buddy Church at Guitar Center and the folks at Yarborough's. You never know where you'll find what you need.

RE: Musician question
Willie, I have a 314. Had it for probably 10 years now. I'd love to sell it and my other guitar and just buy one guitar but I can't find buyers and I probably couldn't bring myself to do it. And just in case you ask for what my other is...it is a Gibson Chet Atkins SST.

Claw, I've had Buddy do some work on mine. He is good but we didn't "click". Maybe it was a bad day but he just didn't seem like he wanted to be helping customers. The only other guy I've had do work is Matt Stoker who used to be with Yarbrough. He has his own shop now. Not 100% sure where it is though.
