We had interest in him early, but he seems to want to play in the SEC.

I still thinks he ends up at USF but he wants the attention he is getting and I can't blame the kid from wanting to go on visits and see other schools. This only happens once in a lifetime for these kids

It's still a gross feeling when you roll out the red carpet and the kid doesn't really care.

You have to remember tat we are talking about 18 year old kids that are used to being the center of attention.
I don't sweat it. Whoever comes to USF I'll root for him

Hearsay on the internet is whispering that Devin Washington is contemplating making a commitment status soon. Moreso, that that commitment is leaning heavily towards UCF
Devin Washington is a 5.7, three star DE with offers from: Cinci, Duke, FIU, Illinois, Iowa St, Kansas, Louisville, Mississippi, Mizzou, NC State, Northwestern, Rutgers, South Alabama, South Carolina, USF, SMU, Temple, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, WVU, and WKU

We've seemingly offered everyone in Florida so far. I think we've offered more FL kids than PA and NJ kids. Just offered a QB from Orlando today.

Bearcats snagged A.J. Branisel on Thursday night. 3* by Rivals, offers from Mizzou, UConn, and some MAC programs. Your quintessential receiving tight end.

RE: Big East Football Recruiting 2013
I can't believe a fellow new Big East member would say a guy would never pick UH over UT. We've had a few just in the past few years do just that, and in the 70s and 80s, it happened on a regular basis. I have no doubt that a recruit would choose Temple over Penn State. It's not as if the majority of high school football players are looking to get into Stanford, Duke, Rice, or Vanderbilt. There are all kinds of reasons a player picks a school. Texas is a good university, but UH has really improved its profile in the past few years (at least two of its programs are ranked #1 nationally), and there's a stronger network in the Houston area of UH alums than there is from any other school. The CEOs of Delta, Shell, Sears, Cisco, Dynegy, Administaff, and many others, for example, graduated from UH.

He should switch to basketball and go to school in Chicago.

UT is behind Penn State in the US News and World Report rankings, not to mention about four California publics, Michigan, Wisconsin, Washington, Virginia, North Carolina, etc. It's a good public university, but it ain't Harvard. And I seriously doubt the majority of football recruits are picking schools based primarily on academic reputation. Otherwise, Duke, Vanderbilt, and Northwestern rather than Alabama and Auburn would have won the last three national championships.

1) You don't know that. Pure opinion not based in empirical data.
2) Penn State and UT are both AAU universities.
3) I named an objective source that rates Penn State above UT.
4) Still no clue how this has anything to do with most kids choosing UH or UT or Penn State or Temple. Most recruits are concerned with offensive and defensive schemes, relationships with their recruiter, position coach, and head coach, knowing someone who goes to the school, exposure, etc. I can see maybe 10% of recruits picking a college over another because of academics, but to say no one would choose UH over UT is a really stupid statement. It's not as if it hasn't happened MANY times. What school do you think was Andre Ware's second choice?

You named an 'objective source' that ranks Drexel and Auburn ahead of Temple. USNWR is a joke.

Seriously guys take this crap to another thread. This is about recruiting not a debate on academics and your opinions of it. If it continues I will remove your posts from the thread to clear up space. I am not saying that what you are talking about does not have merit it just not applicable to this thread. Thank You.
