Aubrey Williams Scouting Report
Saw this scouting report on 6-6 Rocket commitment Aubrey Williams from Rick Staudt from Sourcehoops.com who saw him play at the 32 team IMG Beach Blast last month. This is the same Prep School Tournament that UT Assistant Coach, Ryan Pedan attended to watch Williams play:

"Williams may be a bit undersized as a big forward but he is still effective. His body looks like it can still use some toning but he runs the floor well, is an effective offensive rebounder, and is effective from fifteen feet and in. Williams can guard bigger players in the post and though not a great leaper will challenge any and all drivers that come into the paint."

RE: Aubrey Williams Scouting Report
Thanks for the post. I really hadn't heard much about this Aubrey Williams. I wasn't sure from his highlight YouTube that he was a full 6'6" or not. In any case, I am hoping he is skilled enough to play some minutes next season and not have to be red-shirted...without a full complement of schollies, I just don't think we have the luxery of using one on a player that we then don't allow to contribute for a season (especially an inside-the-paint player).

Not to hijack the thread, but you mentioned Coach Pedan. Anyone concerned that he may end up back at Miami as their next head coach?

Doubt it about Pedon, doesn't have much coaching experience. I think he's about 32.

a DI would have to be idiotic to hire a revenue head coach that young.

I only asked because the Miami board was none too happy when they lost Pedan to us. He had a rep there for being a very good recruiter.

I hope they had good reason for being none too happy.
