OVC Tournament
Have you seen the way the OVC does their conference tournament? The top 8 teams make the field, just like the A-Sun. However, the top two seeds get a bye automatically to the semifinals. All Murray State and Tn State has to do is win one game and they are in the finals.
The OVC Bracket
Has the OVC always done it this way?
While it seems like an advantage for the top 2 seeds, I'm not so sure if it actually is. While the top seeds are well rested they may be cold for not playing in a week and run into a team that is hot and on a roll.
Would you like to have the A-Sun tournament in this format or would you rather keep it the way it is?

RE: OVC Tournament
They changed the format for this year. They used to have the first round and the quarters on campus sites then move to neutral site for the semis.
I actually like that format. I think every eligible team should be in the conference tournament. Play the opening round at the higher seeded team's arena, then the top 8 move to the neutral site. I would actually play the quarterfinals on campus as well then move to the neutral site for 2 days.

Calling Municipal a hellhole is an insult to hellholes. That place has been obsolete for probably 20 years now.
To nobody's great surprise, Murray State wins the tournament, but TSU kept the game close and nearly beat them again. If that program can build some momentum, the OVC is going to be very interesting next year.

Was well worth viewing. Looked like Murray State was just cruising until they had to go to work at the end. Good crowd. OVC is a better place than the A-Suc long haul. Ask Belmont. Did you see the empty seats in Macon for the A-Suc final? Of all the conference tournaments so far, the A-Suc must lead in the number of empty seats for its final. The A-Suc will never develop much fan interest because, as you know, not enough schools will hang around long enough to build this conference into a internal competitive league. It will forever be stuck where it is - if it survives. Still can't believe ETSU is in this outfit and allowed its program to deteriorate. With Belmont gone, it's safe to predict that ETSU will not step into their place with the direction the program is headed. Again I ask, what is Dr. Noland going to do about ETSU athletics?

Dr. Noland please help correct this mess!
