What you don't see in the video is that the sky cam was stuck in the on position when it came down, so it was moving all over the field on its own, like an alien being. It wasn't being dragged off by anyone. It was doing its own thing.

The Hawkeye announcers started laughing hysterically at the absurdity of it. Neither could catch a breath. If someone captured that part of the incident, I'll bring it over.

Yep. That's star receiver Marvin McNutt, and he got a big welt on his arm from where the cable snapped him. The heavy part of the camera landed less than 2 feet from him. Two other players on the field got hit by the cable. McNutt said that the wire kept pulling him, and he knew he didn't want to keep going with it. Bwah!

"I fell like somebody was trying to kill me on their (Oklahoma's) staff," McNutt joked. "If you are looking, I'm looking for you. No. It was lucky it didn't hit me."

No doubt the BCS will sue the camera company "on behalf of the players" (wink wink nudge nudge) and distribute the money equally among all BCS teams.
