Seems like a nice kid, but looks really slow, really weak, has zero technique, and is way too high. Other than that, he might be a good walk on candidate. Def not a scholarship athlete at this point

Quite a few recruits at the game yesterday.

Hope they stayed for the whole game!

Not shocked. He wanted to play in Big 10. Will be interesting if Zook is gone?

Zook's staff has had a tough time recruiting in state. Iowa,Wisky & Indiana 04-jawdrop have been raiding the cookie jar. Will be interesting to see where stud DT and Rivals IL #1 recruit Tommy Schutt from Glenbard West goes to. Can't believe with all the upheaval at PSU that he will honor his verbal there.

He won't be sitting on the bench long wherever he decides to go.

I'm a Glenbard West football alum so I have been following their team and players closely, especially the last few tears. I've been asking a lot of people what's gonna happen w Schutt after this whole PSU thing and I was told he committed there bc it was the only school recruiting him that didn't even mention the option of moving to offensive line. Word on the street is that after PSU cleans house at the end of the season and the D line coach is gone, expect to see him end up at Iowa with former teammate Jordan Walsh.

Wish there was a way we could get him but I'd say zero chance

RE: 2012 Recruiting Thread
Glauser scheduled to visit Mississippi State and Oklahoma State (link).

Already visited Florida State and NIU.

It looks like he is really interested in the SEC (link).

Quote:
“I think that’s the best conference in the United States,” said Glauser, who’s in talks with offensive line coach Chris Klenakis about an official visit. “They’re just football crazy there. Coming from Switzerland, my friends and all of the football players know what’s going on here and they know about the SEC and to play for an SEC team … I mean that would be a dream come true.”

When speaking about Arkansas OL coach:

“He’s a honest guy,” Glauser said. “He doesn’t try to lie to me or something. He told me if I come in I have to work. I like how he’s honest with me unlike other coaches like ‘If you come in you’re the starter for sure.’ I really like him.”

I hope it wasn't the NIU coaches who told him that he'd be a starter for sure. Although if they did it was because they believe he would be, but he may have interpreted it as a being deceitful. I hope they stressed that he would have to work hard, but if he did he would have an excellent chance of being the starter for the 2012 season.

Does anyone know how many starting OL in the NFL are NIU alums? Doug Free, Ryan Diem (both Tackles). That's got to be pretty good. There may be some future NFLers on the current NIU roster.

Glauser lists NIU as "low interest" on Scout. I would say our chances are nil.

Impressive film, the kid's an unbelievable runner after the catch. And check the catch he makes at the 3:00 mark.

RE: 2012 Recruiting Thread
Musso showed great explosiveness with a 40 inch vertical jump and threw the power ball nearly 40 feet. He then had a monster combine performance, posting a 120.27 SPARQ rating, good enough for fourth best in the nation this year.Workout warrior. He had #1 ranking in Chicago, who was #2? Perez Ford, a HUSKIE verbal. He had a solid performance at the Nike Combine in Chicago a year ago, posting a 93.39 SPARQ rating. The 6-foot-2, 207-pound back improved all his numbers and finished with the No. 2 rating at the combine with a 114.66 score. Ford clocked a 4.60 in the 40, threw the power ball 40 feet and jumped almost 38 inches in the vertical.

Doeren is killing for ATHLETES.
