Yeah, he came in briefly in the 1st half, and looked kind of tentative. Must be a broken nose or something.

Down 3, second media timeout. Breakdowns on defense giving up open 3 pointers now the problem. We were up by 4 points at one point...UNF just went on a 5 nothing run before the media timeout...UNF ball.

Disappointing loss. A few of our guys really lost their composure there at the end of the game. We were down 6 with several minutes to play, and Whipple ended taking three contested shots (1 three, 1 jump shot, 1 layup) that all missed in three consecutive possessions. We were getting stops, and we didn't convert on any of those possessions. I think if we can score a basket or two during that time period we probably end up with the win.

Gonna have to regroup and get one vs. Jacksonville. Huge game in 2 days.

Yeah, I don't know what the stats were, but it is pretty crazy that UNF had 2 fouls with 37 second left to play in the second half, and we had over 10. Something is not right about that.

I listened on 920 and it sounded like a game we should've won. What really concerns me is something that I've seen happen fairly consistently all year: we will go on these stretches (like the one you are referring to KB) where we can't make a shot to save our lives. Our inconsistency is the most frustrating thing to me, and it really concerns me because this is the A-Sun. As we've said, every game is a battle, and we cannot afford to take 5 minute stretches off when we don't do jack. I don't know if that goes to immaturity of our players, or a knock on the coaching, whatever it is something needs to be done.

Was anyone else as frustrated as I was when Whipple missed those 3 shots in a row? I made a comment to a friend at the Fordham game the other night about him, it seems like he's playing out his scholarship, I am actually quite surprised he plays as much as he does.

I was frustrated to see "the best" players play 30 minutes and only have 1 assist.

They shot 27 free throws and we shot 7. That's where we lost the game. Also why did Jon Michael sit so much in the 2nd half. Markeith played 39 minutes and this seems to be the trend. We need to rest him a few minutes here and there. The only shots Whipple should take should come from offensive rebounds. If he ever takes a 3 pointer he would be sitting beside the coach.Looks like we got some home cooking or maybe we need to more agreesive and take the ball to the basket.

I didnt see the game, but it sounds very frustrating. I'd like to comment on the game, but since i didnt see it, i cant make any fair assessments.

Were a very talented bunch, but we do lack discipline and focus at times. Hopefully we can fix that problem.

We were definitely taking it to the basket in the second half, and there were some questionable no calls on our end, and foul calls on their end.

Is that right? Well I see that as one on one play.

UNF has won 5 in a row. Read what they said below on how they did it, then tell me your thoughts.

Haugabrook helps North Florida men's basketball team win 5th in row
BY HAYS CARLYON

One streak ended for the University of North Florida men's basketball team and another continued Saturday night against
Atlantic Sun Conference foe Kennesaw State.
Both were good news for the Ospreys.
UNF utilized a strong defensive effort in the second half to dispatch the visiting Owls 66-60. The victory extended the team's winning streak to five games. That's the longest for UNF since a six-game run during the 2003-04 season.

The victory also helped the Ospreys snap an 0-2 start in conference play.

"We have a lot of confidence right now," said UNF guard Brad Haugabrook, who led the team with 17 points and six assists. "We're buckling down defensively."
The Ospreys (6-7, 1-2) trailed 54-53 with 9:48 to play, but outscored the Owls 13-6 to close the game out. Kennesaw State (5-8, 1-2) was held without a field goal for a span of 4:51 during the stretch.

"I thought we set the tone defensively in the second half," UNF coach Matthew Driscoll said. "I tell our team all the time that if you guard and defend, you'll win."
UNF built a 63-56 lead, but the Owls managed to cut the advantage to 63-60 on a layup by Markeith Cummings with 2:13 to play. Those would be the final points the Ospreys allowed.

Forward Matt Sauey pulled down a tough defensive rebound and blocked a shot in the final minute to help preserve the win. The sophomore also added 14 points.
In all, UNF had four players score in double figures, with Eni Cuka (11) and Andy Diaz (10) joining Haugabrook and Sauey.

"We had 15 assists tonight on 22 buckets," Driscoll said. "That's huge. Our forwards are great passers as well, and we did a good job of finding the open shot."

The Ospreys took a 38-37 lead into halftime on Cuka's 3-pointer with nine seconds left on the clock. The second half featured 11 lead changes before UNF gained the upper hand for good with 8:19 to play.

UNF will host A-Sun rival Mercer (5-8, 1-2) at 7:45 p.m. on Monday.
