He's biased because anybody that lives in Canada is probably hoping for some global warming.

I'm hoping for it here in Dayton, Ohio, as well. Plus the white death is coming this afternoon...

I've heard that people in Siberia would prefer GW, since it would allow more land to be used for agriculture as the permafrost melts.
It's already snowing here in the Chicago suburbs. Not accumulating very fast right now though.

Mars has actually recently had a "global warming" period, which further debunks the eco-nazi's claim that any warming is caused by humans and by connection capitalism.
notice how doomsday stuff like this all have the same "solution", which is increasing the size and power of the government.
Jimmy Carter while president told the nation we didn't have enough oil to last till the end of the 1980's. long before that economic fools, were telling the world that there wasn't enough resources to sustain the coming population boom.

Just because some natural temperature fluctuations occur doesn't mean that people can't have an effect on temperatures too.

And throughout the 1990's some people were saying there would some day be a catastrophic terrorist attack inside the United States...
Oh. Wait. That happened.
And throughout the last 15 years people were saying there would be a major hurricane that would hit New Orleans and would overwhelm the government's capacity to respond...
Oh. Wait. That happened too.
But your point is taken -- we should definitely just assume these things won't happen. That way we don't risk being overprepared for something.

the whole contention of Human caused "global warming" now morphing into a safer political phrase of "climate change" is that CO2(which is a natural and essential to our surival) is coming out of our cars, industry, etc. and supposedly placing more in the atmosphere than should be there and supposedly "warming" the earth's climate which has always been dynamic.
One hole in this theory is the largest human caused increase of CO2 happened post WW2 during the Industrial Expansion, Temps during this time period DROPPED, alot, in fact they dropped so much the statist Media ran stories in the 1970's about Global Cooling in another lame effort.
The President of the Czech Republic actually spoke up recently on what is really going on, calling the UN's group "purely political", its nothing more than a Socialist scheme to suck money our of the rich countries and into the hands of Statist.

If the libs really wanted to stop co2 emissions the could just stop breathing. I would be supportive of that kind of measure. lmfao

First off Bill Clinton chose not to pursue action on terrorist threat. Of course, Bill Clinton is god to most libs and can do nothing wrong.
Second, People have been saying that a hurricane would destroy NO for longer than 15 years. It doesn't take a rocket scientist, you have a city below sea level things like that happen. Of course, instead of spending money to sure up the levies they were more occupied in trying to get the Hornets to come from Charlotte.

And any of this mitigates my point how, exactly?
Rather, I think it illustrates the folly of relying on best-case assumptions and wishful thinking, rather than plan to hedge against the worst case.

Oh. Wait. That hasn't happened.
And in the 1970's "ecologists" warned us of the perils of global cooling.
Oh. Wait. That never happened.
Your logic is not that at all.
I'm not anxious to tempt fate, and be wasteful and cause alot of unecessary pollution...nor am I anxious to jump aboard ill-conceived plans based on faulty data and reasoning.

But transitioning to less of a carbon economy has no downside -- only upside. From a national security perspective (We're funding both sides of the war on terror), an economic perspective (high tech industry, productivity growth), and an environmental perspective.
There is no harm in accelerating that transition. So the argument that we should just wait and see what happens instead of assuming the worst and planning for it is non-sensical from a cost-benefit perspective.
