I'm gonna throw these guys out there ... I happened across them earlier in the week and what I like about this it s a "non-traditional" metal/rock fan ( they are admittedly hip hop enthusiasts) duo breaking down some decent metal tunes and what I have enjoyed is listening to their commentary about the songs, what they like, the musicianship, the lyrics (based on them saying in rap its all about the lyrics, not just the music). Now they do cover other genres and I took a look at some of their rap video content and its still as thoughtful as these. So its not really the songs themselves but a reaction/review of sorts of all kinds of songs. Again, I am posting a varying array of what they have posted on.
First one I watched and it got me into listening to more of their thoughts.
They've done quite a few with other metal/rock bands.... some new, some old.... I posted a mix of what they have covered...

Like actually go into my catalog and burn off a disc or two from their albums? I mean, yeah, I got all the studio albums. I got all of Gza's solo stuff. I dropped Meth's solo stuff after Ticall 2000 (?, not the first Tical ).
I mean, yeah, I actually can do it... lol....
What you got to hook me up with?
I'd be down with some classic hip hop or some metal...

that's not, really what i had in mind. i just wanted you to make me a couple mixes of some of your favorite wu tang for nothing in exchange. and even if i were to play along it is unfortunate for you because i gave away about 200 hip hop albums, mostly the classics, cali backpacker, early aught underground, a bevy from the cool labels such as rawkus and landspeed. landspeed put out an mc shan album i'm pretty sure like when he was an older ass man. rawkus at it's peak was untouchable. of course, this was right after my no limit soldier dayz. that collection was quickly burned and forgotten. also had a lot of southern radio rap like the geto boyz and eightball & mjg, goodie mob kept the outkast. that ****'s too classy
i could introduce you to indie pop. tegan and sara is one of my faves

Hmmm...... sounds like a challenge.... what would my ultimate Wu Tang Mix CD(s) contain? Damn.... I could easily get a disc 1 out of me. Disc 2 might have to pull in some solo efforts.... a heavy dose of Gza Genius catalog... early Meth. Never got into Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Cappadona, and someone else I think I am missing. Meth's early work and the Genius/Gza catalog have some good material.
