Question on directions.
When I mapquested Boiling Springs, NC from Johnson City, I got two sets of directions. One that takes me almost to Cherokee, and another that's down by Shelby. Now by research I know to go to Shelby, but what's the deal with that?

Forget Mapquest, get a map! Some of those internet map services only use interstates and US routes...no state routes.

Go to Asheville, then take US74 East (don't take 74-Alt unless you want to snake through Hickory Nut Gorge at 35 mph.) You'll bypass Rutherfordton and Forest City, then when you cross into Cleveland County, watch for the GardnerWebb turn to the right. You won't have to go all the way into Shelby. However, if you like BBQ, go on into Shelby and eat at Bridges BBQ across from Hampton Inn. It's a little expensive, but really good and they have red slaw!

I bet G-W will be fired up for ETSU after losing to KSU!!

That's what I did... Mapquest did take me down 26 to 74, the only time it was rough was that last little two lane road from 74 into Boiling Springs...
They were fired up, but it was kinda like a roman candle. They came out hot, then sort of fizzled out.
G-Webb either A: Needs a new arena, or B: Needs a SEVERE facelift to their current facility, based on everything else I saw on the campus. The football stadium is incredible. Keep building around that program, you'll be out of this suitcase conference VERY SOON.

They just renovated their football stadium i believe. We played them in football in 2002 and their stadium was a crap-hole. They had wooden bleachers.

I passed through Gaffney on I85 last night around 7:30pm and saw the sign for Boiling Springs, if I had known how close it was I would have swung up and caught the 2nd half. Dang..

It was close. I think they did just renovate, as they had nice chairback seats in the middle, with luxury boxes, an incredible fieldhouse, etc... Kinda looked like Tusculum's setup, only alot bigger.
