Hampton has cruised to a 5-0 start, but faces a bit of a challenge at Gardner- Webb this week. The Bulldogs offense has scored at least 28 points in every contest, and put up 31 in a loss to Furman on Saturday. Hamptons defense has held every opponent to 14 points or less, but its yet to face an offense that can move the ball as well as Gardner-Webb. The Bulldogs figure to top the 14 point mark, so an up-and-down Hampton offense will need to play well against a mediocre at best Bulldog defense. The best way to do that will probably come on the ground. Hampton has Alonzo Coleman and Ardell Daniels to pound away at a Gardner-Webb defense that allowed 346 rushing yards in a 48-31 loss to Furman. Hampton will need to put points on the board this week. The Pirates should use the running game to score enough to win, but it wont be easy on the road. Prediction: Hampton 27, Gardner-Webb 24News-Herald
