Anyway, what's also interesting to me here is that ESPN actually outbid Fox by a pretty significant margin. That's amazing to me because Fox has shown a propensity to overpay for properties in recent years.
ESPN is paying about $1.5 billion over 5 years while Fox offered about $200 million per year.
Fox miscalculation? Was Fox simply ready to move on? Showing chinks in the armor?
Either way, I find it interesting that ESPN is willing to pay this and will be housing so much of the content on ESPN+. Things are changing...again.
