UAB Ladies vs Ga Tech - BlazerGreen - 03-18-2018 01:07 PM

Anybody catch why Tech got to shoot 2 before the tip off? Technical in warmups? WTF

Very poor quarter defensively for UAB, down 28-15. We look very sluggish on D and the boards. Maybe we'll catch fire from 3.

I'd guess a roster mishap which precluded all of our other mishaps up to now.

Well, I thought our men played poor D but today so far is the worst D I've seen in a UAB uniform all this school year: 58-27 at halftime.

The ladies have had a really nice season but today continues this years trend of UAB teams getting crushed in our final game. Doesn't erase a good run but is kind of a buzzkill heading into the long off season.

Tough game but great season ladies. Proud of your work.

Go Blazers

I am seeing a number of these lopsided scores in the round of 32 yesterday and today. At least a couple were reported to be record deficit scores for those teams. As Jerry Reed sang "When you're hot you're hot, and when you're not you're not".

I truly hope this wasn't a "We just found out our coach is leaving and are too distracted to play well"-type outcome.
Kind of like MTSU's disaster of a game vs UL.

From what I heard, it was more of a "We ran into a team which was bigger and more talented" problem, as well as some home officiating.

Comes down to athleticism. We are a very good team, but not very athletic one...

Great season and a good springboard to the NCAAs next year.

Exactly. I don't recall us ever seeing a press nearly as good as that one. Their team was tall and long. Several times it seemed like Georgia Tech had six players on the court. Our team was unable to settle down and kept rushing their shots. There was enough home cooking to account for about a dozen points, but Georgia Tech was just better in all facets of the game. From the team I saw Sunday, I was surprised Georgia Tech wasn't a NCAA tournament team.

Fortunately, our squad is still very young. We only had one senior who got significant minutes, so just like last year, we'll be returning a lot. Expect this team to contend for the CUSA title for at least the next two years.
