I don't know about that. FB has a ton of bandwidth and can carry pretty much any stream that pays them.

It beats the crap out having 75' of old antenna cable strung on poles and along the fence just to get an AM signal out of Birmingham. Or even worse, having to wait until the next day and hope for a full box score.

Pet peeve alert: It is not possible to broadcast on facebook or any other website.
A broadcast is a terrestrial radio or television signal. This amateur hour NCAA webcam show is streaming, not broadcasting.

Well hopefully that future includes TVs with built-in facebook / instagram / twitter / stadium / aljazeerasportsnet apps where I can flip through them like channels, not navigate to them in a web browser through a "smart TV" that doesn't come with a ******* mouse or keyboard. I'm tired of watching games on my phone or my laptop to TV via HDMI cable. Just because there's a cable that can connect them, doesn't mean that "HD" facebook feed is going to look spectacular on the TV.

The future may be watching things on the Internet, but specifically on Facebook is trash, and without a decent app for every single platform, it's trash. The future of TV is apps on devices, so give us apps on devices.

Sure, it’s just a handful of games, but they are testing the model.
Right, they're Wednesday afternoon games that no one would be watching on TV. Putting them on Facebook opens it up to people who would want to watch at work. It's a great way to 'test' and see how it works.
I'm not saying Facebook streaming isn't the future, I'm saying that as implemented by Conference USA, it sucks. And it's the future, it's not the present. Put regular season games that wouldn't have gotten picked up by the rights holder on FB as a test? sure. Have an app that is available on Android, iOS, Roku, Apple TV, etc? sure.
But at the end of the day you guys are suffering from severe Stockholm Syndrome if you think the amateur hour bush league BS being put on by the conference is acceptable in any way. From the laughable venue setup of the tournament to the miserable TV deal to the miserable TV production.

Please point out where someone liked the way the dual court setup or the broadcast team on Facebook. After watching games this year where the Internet feed died or someone forgot to turn Crane's mic on, or you missed parts of the game because the in house video was blasting "Make Noise", Facebook is a refreshing change. The future is the fact that TV networks are not going to show non power 5 conference games anymore.

Right! The real problem is that as “bush league” as Facebook might have been for the conference tourney, it was miles better than what UAB/CUSA produced for its fans all season.

The cheapest most universal solution that I have found so far is a FireTV/FireTV stick.
The built in TV operating systems are too fractured and piecemeal. The Fire has nearly all of the apps available. Just get a new one. My new Fire TV worked fine. My old FireTV Stick was locking up every 5 minutes using the facebook video app and I had to ditch it.
