ODU @ WKU - cmett003 - 02-23-2018 09:12 AM

We are just finding ways to win right now and I think we clean up the turnovers. No way WKU shoots like they did in Norfolk. ODU does it again and finds a way.

ODU 81
WKU 75

Get this one, and we can breathe a little.

Hopefully, we can put the Florida schools away at home early and get McClinton some PT. I don't know where he is at this point, but any minutes that he can give us in the tourney would be invaluable.

RE: ODU @ WKU - bigblue78 - 02-23-2018 09:44 AM

Saturday 7:00 in Bowling Green: Western Kentucky (21-7, 13-2 CUSA).

Results since game 1: Charlotte (73-63); UAB (77-69); MTSU (62-66); Marshall (85-74); UTEP (72-60); UTSA (63-74); Fau (75-63); FIU (83-76); N Texas (102-94 OT); Rice (85-66); Charlotte (93-55).

Last game: WKU shot >55% FG for the 4th straight game and had six players in double figures, routing Charlotte 93-55 Thursday. WKU scored the final 14 pts in the first half to lead 43-27 and never slowed down, leading by as many as 39 in the second half. Josh Anderson had a career-high 19 pts (8-10 FG), Justin Johnson 16, Thompson, Coleby and Hollingsworth 12 each and Lamonte Bearden 10.

CUSA stats: 80.5 pts (vs 69.9); .499 FG (.361 3s); .716 FT; +3.5 RB; A/TO= 1.21

Starters
F Justin Johnson (6-7 245 Sr). 35.6 min.; .524 FG (21-45 3s); .564 FT; 10.0 RB; 16.8 pts
F Dwight Coleby (6-9 245 Sr). 28.8 min.; .607 FG; .787 FT; 8.7 RB; 1.9 blocks; 13.0 pts
G Darius Thompson (6-4 190 Sr). 35.7 min.; .480 FG (29-67 3s); .738 FT; 5.0 RB; 5.0 assists; 15.5 pts
G Lamonte Bearden (6-3 170 Jr). 25.6 min.; .473 FG (5-23 3s); .825 FT; 1.3 RB; 3.5 assists; 1.5 steals; 9.3 pts
G Taveion Hollingsworth (6-2 165 Fr). 35.5 min.; .464 FG (16-51 3s); .803 FT; 3.3 RB; 12.9 pts

Bench
G Josh Anderson (6-6 180 Fr). 16.7 min.; .619 FG; .581 FT; 2.3 RB; 8.0 pts
G Jake Ohmer (6-1 170 Fr). 13.7 min.; .296 FG (10-36 3s); .714 FT; 1.1 RB; 3.8 pts
F Marek Nelson (6-7 185 Fr). 6.6 min.; .454 FG; .429 FT; 1.4 RB; 1.7 pts
F Moustspha Diagne (6-9 230 So). 7.1 min.; .308 FG; .333 FT; 1.9 RB; 0.8 pts

Best balanced, best shooting team in CUSA. While they don’t shoot a lot of 3s, they have efficient snipers. WKU’s offense leads to a big FT advantage (most FT attempts/g in CUSA games; 8.9/g advantage on opponents).

In conference games, WKU is #1 pts/g and FG%; #2 FG% defense and blocks/g; #3 scoring margin; #4 steals/g; #5 RB margin.
Individually Justin Johnson is #1 RB; #2 FG% (would be #2 3% if he qualified) and #8 pts/g. Coleby is #3 blocks and #4 RB (would be #1 FG% if he qualified).

Hey 35, I'm no doctor but I wouldn't be counting much on McClinton from what I saw. That game in got in, he looked fairly good at first, made a beautiful move to the basket but a couple minutes later he seemed to be hobbling quite bad. Looked to me like he took a blow to his knee when he came down with a rebound.

We win this next one and we are officially on the "hottest teams in the nation" list!

Win this next one and I don't see how we get left out of the NIT. (if we beat the FUs) We could even play ourselves into bubble talk if we win out until the championship, but with the WM loss, Im afraid we'd be on the outside looking in.

Yup. 23-4 looks better than 22-5

RE: ODU @ WKU - ODUBB35 - 02-23-2018 11:03 AM

I just want to win for the optics, ie. not getting swept.

But yes, a win would definitely boost our NIT resume.

RE: ODU @ WKU - Monarch1987 - 02-23-2018 11:21 AM

Teams have not faired well with us after having such an easy contest with Charlotte. It’s like oh now we got to play defense and against a better defense. Also, style of play is different.

RE: ODU @ WKU - FearTheLion - 02-23-2018 11:22 AM

We got this.

And enough with all that NIT talk. That's not aiming high at all. Ain't nobody got time for that.

ODU is a big dance school and it's time we get back to doing what we do.

RE: ODU @ WKU - mac - 02-23-2018 11:25 AM

Yeah, I'm with you guys. I want to WIN. WK is very good. We beat them on their court, get to 23-5, well, that is really something considering how we started. All we can do at this point is win what's in front of you. If you end the regular season having won 20 of your last 22, I'm not sure what more you can ask of a team.

It's exciting to see the turn around these players and coaches have made.

Is this game on Stadium as well?

RE: ODU @ WKU - ODU_NYG - 02-23-2018 01:14 PM

First time watching via Stadium app on Roku last night and I have to say the quality was great.

RE: ODU @ WKU - bit_9 - 02-23-2018 01:25 PM

I actually have the Stadium channel via Sling but the feed just said "offline" and nothing was streaming. So I went to watchstadium.com on the Silk browser on my firetv and it worked just fine. Although, it did crash/freeze with about 5 min left in the game. But just restarted Silk and launched the stream again.

RE: ODU @ WKU - ODU_NYG - 02-23-2018 01:53 PM

PSU Vue (which I use for streaming TV) doesn't have Stadium, but the app is free and worked pretty good.
