Delaware - dan10 - 02-22-2018 06:14 AM

With stakes still on the line and the 6th seed still open this is obviously a must win. Whether or not Williams is healthy this is a winnable game. If he is not 100% he should sit, as the CAAT is more important for him to be ready for than any regular season game, even against Delaware. This team has been showing a lot of fight, so if Williams doesnt go this would be a great opportunity for this team to grab a win and show they are capable of winning without Williams. If he does play, hopefully we can try and win a game in blowout fashion

Vegas likes us tonight and so do I. Vegas line is Drexel -4

good luck tonight!

RE: Delaware - DrachenFire - 02-22-2018 12:35 PM

Tonight's 6th seed rooting checklist:
Us over Sucks
CC over Elon
NU over TU
JMU over HU HU over JMU
WM over UNCW (sorry solo)

Some of these are contingencies in case some of the others don't pan out. This is all moot if we lose tonight, as there's no way to secure 6th if that happens. Having UNCW and Elon not be tied at the end is essential (unless they both finish 6-12 and we're 7-11) and WM finishing in third would be beneficial to us for tiebreaking scenarios.

Unless I'm missing something, I think for the JMU/Hofstra game, we need to cheer for Hofstra. I believe the tiebreaker going to third with Elon would only matter if they beat Northeastern and lose the other two and it is just us and them tied for third. If JMU beat Hofstra, then they would join us in the tie since they would also have to beat Elon and they would win the three-way tie because of their sweep of Elon.

RE: Delaware - DrachenFire - 02-22-2018 05:33 PM

You're right, I misread my note showing a three-way tie between us, Elon and JMU where Elon would need to go L, L, W for us to win tiebreaker because they would then split with JMU and we would get 6th because we beat NU and the other two went 0-2 against them. I was trying to give JMU a reason to try and beat Elon in the last game if Elon ended up beating NU, forgetting that JMU already beaten Elon.

I just tuned in. What the hell happened in the first 12 minutes?

RE: Delaware - dan10 - 02-22-2018 07:28 PM

Well talk of anything beyond 10th seed is out.

RE: Delaware - dan10 - 02-22-2018 07:38 PM

This is brutal 47-17 4:30 left in the first half

RE: Delaware - dan10 - 02-22-2018 07:40 PM

final media timeout 47-19. I think Delaware is still shooting over 70%

RE: Delaware - dan10 - 02-22-2018 07:44 PM

UD up to 9 3's

RE: Delaware - hiroshimacarp - 02-22-2018 07:44 PM

i was hoping the score was wrong on the video. dd.com hasn't updated lately at least on my computer so you never know.

RE: Delaware - dan10 - 02-22-2018 07:47 PM

56-29 at half Delaware leads. 10 3 pointers by the chickens

RE: Delaware - hiroshimacarp - 02-22-2018 08:39 PM

who else is watching this?

i blinked and we scored 13 points. isabell's at the line for 14.

RE: Delaware - hiroshimacarp - 02-22-2018 08:48 PM

isabell is the king of getting fouled on the last shot of a game.

RE: Delaware - solohawks - 02-22-2018 08:52 PM

Heck yeah Drexel!

RE: Delaware - hiroshimacarp - 02-22-2018 08:56 PM

i only saw the second half. mainly put it on because i was fascinated we could be losing by so much. ended up seeing a great comeback. whether drexel was heroic or delaware choked...it turned out to be the close game it should've been.

i'd argue it was our comeback. my sense is we didn't play defense in the first half. hopefully we understand now how good we can be if we play defense. the hustle play where mojica and harper both made saves was epic.

mostly i'm glad we didn't get destroyed for the sake of the crowd that showed up. we can't afford that.

in case you wanted to taste delaware tears. i almost forgot how good they taste.

my favorite is the guy who seems to have a nervous tic where he rattles off all of his team's most epic losses.

Just wanted to say awesome win today! I saw a tweet it was the largest comeback in D1 history. Good stuff

The previous biggest comeback was when Duke was down 32 before beating Tulane 74-72 on December 30, 1950. One of the Delaware fans on gohens.net that hiroshimacarp linked to incorrectly said that the previous biggest comeback was 31.

In three of your last four wins, your winning shot was a free throw with 6 or fewer seconds left.

These close games (M & W) at the DAC this year are killing me...

But now I can chalk up being part of a second existing NCAA record. This one and the women's 5 OT game against Northeastern
