Is anyone optimistic about the reboot of the XFL? - Fighting Muskie - 02-16-2018 05:14 PM

I for one hope it succeeds and think it can if they focus on markets that the NFL doesn't serve, particularly in the football rabid south.

Not even in the slightest. What is this, 1965? If you aren't familiar with the NFL in the US, you've been living under a rock.

Vince blew his wad.... I hope he did it on some sound advice.... because even with Trump dumping on the NFL nothing has been able to get a foothold for eyeballs and money.

The NFL just abandoned 3 of its markets, priced a bunch of fans out of attendence, and has turned off a bunch of conservative fans over the anthem protests. I'd say that there's a chance for a competitor to inch in on the market.

All of the bolded is true. But as long as the XFL is going to maintain the 3 year post HS grad rule, there won't be enough talent around for the league to prosper.

Vince should have tried to create a full contact soccer league...

Rugby probably would have been a better idea than XFL 2.0 or a “full-contact” soccer league.
