RE: Deion Lavender off the team? - BlazerMatt - 02-10-2018 09:26 PM

not on the bench

RE: Deion Lavender off the team? - UABfan1 - 02-10-2018 09:26 PM

He already quit once not realizing that he wouldn't get the extra half year back.
We let him come back but knowing he wont be around next year we probably give minutes to those who will.

All that said, its still hard to work everyday and not see playing time.

You have convinced yourself that this story you made up is true. Where did you hear he quit once already? Voices in your head?

Perhaps you could explain the 5-6 games where he didn't play better?

Because "family matter" was a lie.

A few days ago, Deion tweeted something about playing, can't recall exactly what it was but Thomas retweeted it. That tweet is gone now.

They may have told him to lay off the "negative" tweets and he couldn't.

Not really negative but to this board breathing is negative.

Again, who are your sources?

Crane said family matter. The rest is simple math. Does not take a brain surgeon to figure it out.

But, if you are confident he didn't quit earlier in the year, how about a huge wager?

Didn't think so.

No. I am just curious what happened. You seem to know the whole story. Wondering how you know? You wouldn't be a Lavender family member would you? Otherwise, you are just making a bunch of guesses.

And you are always wanting to wager on anything?

I'm confident in my educated guesses. You are trolling.

Just put him on ignore. (that goes for both of you.) The rest of us don't want to see your cat fight.

Exactly.

RE: Deion Lavender off the team? - UAB BOT - 02-10-2018 10:12 PM

He gone.

RE: Deion Lavender off the team? - Blazer85 - 02-10-2018 10:32 PM

It’s clear that he and Ehsan haven’t seen eye to eye this season. And maybe he needed to go. I hate that because I think he gave us a dimension really none of our players did. The biggest problem I see is that we now are essentially down 2 scholarship players. Hurtado redshirting. Lavender gone. Our depth was once considered a strength but now I’m not really sure. Smallwood is on scholarship but rarely contributes any minutes.

Lavender going may be best for both parties in the long run. But I think it’s going to complicate things even more in the short term.

Longer term it will be interesting to see how Ehsan goes about recruiting to fill that spot.

It's a bad look on the player who has now transferred off of two different teams.

RE: Deion Lavender off the team? - WesternBlazer - 02-10-2018 10:37 PM

I think there is\was a place for Deion's game on this UAB team, but for whatever reason, things didn't mesh. There were instances where Deion's mid-range or strong-to-the-basket game could have helped this team more than the opportunities he has been given,....

They've known for 2 months he wouldn't be back next year.

A certain big needs to become a manager or find another place to play next year.

That way we can fill the spot with someone who has a chance at contributing on the court.
