Love the NMSU T-shirts though. This kind of stuff is what the WAC needs more of!!

Agreed... I like to see rivalries grow within the conference. For example, I’m thrilled that UTRGV is getting a new arena, and that their student section is growing! Isn’t SU going to start playing games in a new venue soon? I also hope folks around Orem realize there’s basketball other than BYU and decide to get on the Big Green bandwagon.

Regarding calling a winner, I hear you man. Aside from NMSU, every other team is beatable nearly any given night. So, it’s exciting to see the parity and the closer games. There’s no team you can sleep on this year.

Looks like Menzies is picking it up as the season progresses, so the Lever vs Menzies matchup should be intriguing when the Hawks come to Phoenix.

Keep it rolling KC. I liked watching that team play. They have fast athletic guards

Coversation at the house tonight...

Wife: Who’s your team playing tonight?
Me: New Mexico State
Wife: Oh. Why is their mascot Tom Selleck?

Like I said, GCU is a very capable team. They are rolling right now and hitting 3’s. Aggies need to step it up as Lofton is cold

How about UMKC?? Knocks off the #3 and #4 teams in the conference

RE: Week 6 of Conference Play - Raider_Lope - 02-10-2018 10:04 PM

Way to go Roos! Very nice win at home tonight against UVU.

RE: Week 6 of Conference Play - SeattleVandals - 02-10-2018 10:05 PM

Makes SUs loss to them not sting as bad

RE: Week 6 of Conference Play - RoosHouse - 02-10-2018 10:08 PM

Feel good about Roos. Nice to have 8 scholarship players again.

RE: Week 6 of Conference Play - Raider_Lope - 02-10-2018 10:16 PM

Vaqueros just had a buzzer beater tip in to knock off the Runners.

RE: Week 6 of Conference Play - RoosHouse - 02-10-2018 10:17 PM

The roos rotate between 6th and 2nd/3rd every year since joining Wac. I was beginning to doubt that was going to happen.

UMKC is a good team. Several tough losses.

Tough loss tonight for the Lopes. Congrats to the Aggies on a well-fought win. Hate that we let a 13 point lead slip away, but credit NMSU with fighting back and sealing the win in the last minute. Jones was amazing tonight.

We'll see you fellas in Vegas.

Yeah, this Aggie team is battle tested. They know how to win. However, I will say GCU has two real good players to build their program around. Oscar Frayer is tough when he is focused and Lever is highly skilled for a big man. He just needs to keep his temper in check. He got T'd up tonight but I've seen him act animated a few times after getting a foul called on him.

Lever is a hot head. He has to adjust and calm down, but he will get there. Big difference between NCAA and the Italian leagues. Frayer is looking better and better. He’ll be special by the time he’s a senior. Might be the first legit NBA prospect for the Lopes.

Kudos GCU. You guys came to play. I’m glad it was a close game. We need to stay sharp and realize we can get beat on any given day.

Big win for NMSU. They did not play well last night, but still got the victory. With only four assists last night and shooting only 36%, they will need to get better ball movement and shooting when they get to the tournament.

Right now Jerry Palm of CBS Sports has NMSU as a #9 seed and playing #8 Nevada in the first round in San Diego. The seeding is a strong possibility if they don't lose any games through the remainder of the season and in the conference tournament.

If they do land in the West region in San Diego, then all their games are in California, with the West Regional Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight games at Staples Center in LA. Good locations for Aggie fans either living in Southern California or wanting to travel to see the games.

and the Pan American Center, the loudest arena in the WAC when it's filled up of course. The crowd play a big role in the come back on Saturday. 12,000+

RE: Week 6 of Conference Play - dancingNMSUaggie - 02-12-2018 03:24 PM

NMSU and GCU have the best home court advantage in the WAC. No one else even comes close. Even with 6000+ the Pan Am rocks, lower bowl completely filled. With almost 13000 it blows away GCU Arena and yes, I've been to GCU arena for many games. The home record speaks for itself.
