And what do you think the Koch brothers are going to do with all that money?

By the way, the Koch brothers probably don't get much more, if any. They weren't paying US taxes on their foreign income. Now they have less incentive to go overseas to make their money. That translates into more US jobs, in case you can't figure that out.

Koch brothers probably pay more in taxes in a year than that lady will earn in her life

My paycheck had $159 less withholding for federal taxes than before. $318/month. I make decent coin, but I damn sure am not complaining of the extra $3800 in my pocket. Thank you President Trump!

I'll start taking you serious on this subject when you bash Soros, Echayner & Pritzker as much as you ash the Kochs. Until then I'll dismiss it as you being the partisan weasel you've always been.

80% of America including 91% of the middle class is getting a tax cut. Finding the vast minority that isn't, and attempting to magnify it is a LOSING argument, but be my guest.

They love that foreigner George Soros who makes the Koch Bros look like pikers in political contributions. And yet they hate fellow Eastern European immigrant Melaneia.

RE: Hey thanks for the 1.50 - arkstfan - 02-04-2018 09:46 AM

The price of labor is not how much money the employer has, it is the price required to attract and retain someone to do the work who has the requisite skills.

Whether the owner has $100 in his bank account at the end of the month or $1 million has little impact on wages, the only time it really impacts wages is when the owner doesn't have enough left in his account to consider the business worth his time and reduces or eliminates the workforce.

As to the Koch Brothers. No they aren't going to run out and hire a bunch of people or build new plants because they got a tax cut. They are aren't stupid.

They will hold it as cash UNLESS there is adequate consumer demand to warrant expanding production or developing new product lines. Only a complete idiot increases the supply refrigerators and couches when there is no increased demand for couches and refrigerators.

Tax cuts for the wealthy really don't do a great deal for the economy UNLESS you are in a period of high interest rates or an otherwise constrained market for capital. Throughout most of the recession major American companies were flush with cash they just lacked decent investment opportunities because consumer demand was low for discretionary purchases.

The only pressing need for the upper class tax cut just passed was to keep the donor class from rebelling over the cut that was needed for people making under $200,000 or so who have had basically a decade and a half of wage stagnation. Pragmatism works.

RE: Hey thanks for the 1.50 - Machiavelli - 02-04-2018 09:54 AM

At the end of this fairy gumdrop rainbow will be inflation. We will deficit spend to increase inflation. You watch. The vast vast majority will have any savings from a tax cut eaten up by inflation. The vast vast majority of this benefit will go to the donor a Republican class. If the D’s had a nickel of sense in marketing this would be filling our airwaves but we don’t have the equivalent propaganda arm of Fox News.

RE: Hey thanks for the 1.50 - Machiavelli - 02-04-2018 09:56 AM

Another thing that we all would be talking about if the D’s had a Fox News. Congress voted to sanction Russia. The deadline has passed with no sanctions. Why?
