Spring Game 2018 - Tribe3455 - 01-05-2018 06:52 PM

Anyone on here have insight as to the date of the spring game?

RE: Spring Game 2018 - Tribe4SF - 01-05-2018 06:58 PM

I believe it will be April 21.

Thanks. Wow, that’s late.

We have a lot of experts on here. Well, here's your chance to walk the talk.

Didn't find the word "win".

I found the reviews to be interesting.

This seems like an odd job posting. We need a WR coach. There is no mention of the position responsibilities, there is no mention of qualifications.

Maybe this is just part of the hiring process that must be followed. I find it hard to believe that with the coaches conference that took place in Charlotte and all the networking that takes place in this profession that our next coach will come from a posting on Indeed.

HR has job posting policies. That’s it. No coach is looking for a job online in 2018.

The posting does say "Asst OC", so, an upgrade from October? Formality for state job to have to publicly/formally post. Possible that Laycock already has someone lined up and needed to increase the position level/pay to secure them.

Man, I'm perfectly qualified for that position....except for that pesky CPR certification!

Going into spring with just 8 seniors. Great opportunity for some young guys to step up. If underclassmen were seeking more playing time, this spring is their time to shine. Many underclassmen have played large roles already. We need those RShirt Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors who haven’t created a spot for themselves to do so this spring.

With the exception of VT our schedule on paper appears to be easier. We can get back into the playoff conversation with a few more of these guys stepping up.

No Tommy McKee? I could not find his name on the roster.

No Nate McConnell either. To me that may be a bigger loss.

Does anyone know if McKee flunked out, quit football, transferred elsewhere, or suffered an injury or illness that prevents him from playing football?

If a poster knows, and it hasn't been made public, we won't discuss it here.

I hope McKee is just graduating in May and going on with his life. Not every player lives and dies by their sport and coming back to play one last year and having to go to grad school just might not be as appealing as moving on (like Mike Schlotman).

Certainly wish Tommy the best. He was tough as nails. Has the looks of simply being a life decision. I’m looking forward to seeing where we go with the position. I’m confident that either Battle or Mitchell will seize control during Spring ball. The team can’t survive another “not sure who will start at qb” circus again this year. They are both more than capable. Exciting times!

Tommy will be graduating in the spring. He’s ready to move on to the next chapter of his life. Same for Nate McConnell. Nothing else to speculate on.
