What about BYU... - BigHouston - 01-02-2018 12:00 AM

With the AAC comfortably separating itself from the G's... I think BYU should start evaluating AAC membership and take advantage of this opportunity.

What say you

Not sure if they are worth the trouble anymore. The AAC has no real good reason to expand right now, Unless it is Ala and Georgia. They wouldn't join a conf where you had to win out to win title. They like their quality loss championship better..

BYU isn't worth the "issues" they bring.

RE: What about BYU... - goodknightfl - 01-02-2018 12:26 AM

Bottom line is BYU is trending down, AAC up. 2 years ago I would say yes, now NO.

RE: What about BYU... - mustangxc - 01-02-2018 12:28 AM

We may have to add them for the tv market they bring but in terms of on the field performance BYU is trending down.

RE: What about BYU... - Native Georgian - 01-02-2018 12:40 AM

Bottom line, this would be a stronger league with BYU in it.

I’d go 16 in football by adding Army, Air Force, BYU, and San Diego State so long as they get their stadium situation worked out.

Stay at 12 for hoops.

Yes, but the travel would be a killer, which is why there are no national conferences.

Army ? Yes, absolutely.

Add in Southern Miss and you've got a deal.

While I've been a fan off adding Army and BYU from day one, I'm starting to think we don't need them.

No to BYU. They have lost any appeal. Their demands would be to great on the conference.

Yes, and yes.

(and I snagged your signature, loved that tweet!)

BYU is not worth the trouble they bring. All of the concessions they want from a conference just arent worth the little they bring. Hard pass.

RE: What about BYU... - ArmoredUpKnight - 01-02-2018 09:54 AM

Bring Air Force and BYU

Send Memphis to the East.

RE: What about BYU... - goodknightfl - 01-02-2018 09:55 AM

There is no expansion out there that will make us money, and make us better. Play the hand we have.

RE: What about BYU... - YNot - 01-02-2018 12:08 PM

BYU administration will right the ship. The Grimes OC hire is a step in the right direction.

There is still huge fan support. BYU still had 51K in the seats with a 3-8 record for a game against 3-7 UMass in late November weather.

I think the 2017 season has humbled BYU a little. If schedules could be worked out, I think a move for the 2020 season would make sense for everyone.

RE: What about BYU... - colohank - 01-02-2018 12:18 PM

For near-sea-level teams to play in the higher-elevation, relatively rarified air of either Provo or Colorado Springs can be a humbling experience. Visitors get gassed and their competitiveness drops off markedly about midway through the third quarter of games in such places.

Please... no BYU.

RE: What about BYU... - AusTxPony - 01-02-2018 03:30 PM

Yes to BYU (West) and Army (East). Both can schedule OOC P6 with ease. Both have good fan appeal. Both have good academic reputations. BYU on field performance will improve. Both would accept Football Only. Need to leave the MWC with some teams to knock each other off. Like 14 teams, 6 intra-division and 2 inter-division, less likely rematch for Champ game.

I wouldn't. Don't like them. Dont like their fans. Don't like their cheap shot 30 year old mercenary players. Don't like their uniforms, don't like Utah, don't like cougars, don't like the goofy Y on their helmet, don't like inland lakes of salt water, don't like cold weather, don't like mountain time, don't like em. Dont want to go there ever again.
